Everyone knows Labour can't really get into power without Scotland, so as long as Scots keeping voting SNP then there's no hope
And 5 million people leaving a country of 50+ million is small fry for England in the grand scheme of things, it will make Brexit look like a walk in the park

If ever a country that was suited for renewable energy then that country is Scotland. They could easily export hydro electricity to England. While we in the North East are pretty well off for water, the south is struggling so there could well be a market there.But not in favour of oil and gas.

Yeah Scotland must have a similar population and as much usable land as most of the Scandi countries. Most of them do OK. The first statement is the salient point. You can't not do something useful because it may be difficult.Tbf, something being difficult to accomplish doesn't necessarily make it the wrong thing to do.
Supposing they went relatively soon, they could quickly be back in the EU and saving themselves a lot of palaver there. And if it meant they didn't have tory governments for the next 25/50/100(?!) years who knows what a difference it could make to quality of life.
Besides there are plenty of other countries that get by very well with that sort of population - e.g. the Scandis.
