Schofield finished

I’m assuming you are a Middle Aged heterosexual.

Try being gay and living with reading this sort of **** in the Media and self loathing all your life.

You might have a different opinion then.

I honestly have no idea what Schofields done. 50 something shagging an 18 yr old - shock horror! Not illegal last time I looked.

You always seem to rubbish and argue the toss with anything i post on here anyway so I’m not sure why I’m surprised!!

All the best.
I've not rubbished anything you've said or argued. I thought we were sensibly discussing how the media have approached the whole Schofield situation.

Although I suppose I'm not surprised you've managed to make it all about you and are itching for an argument. That is what you do.

Seems to me the fact Schofield is gay is irrelevant.

He started a relationship with someone under age, abused his position to get him a job and then abused it again to get him fired. Then lied about it for years.

That’s the issue surely?
Exactly. But apparently not.

Holmes and his wife lost their jobs on This Morning for going after Schofield.

Nobody in the media could speak out because the creep took out injunctions to prevent it.
Is that true though or just something he’s trying to pedal now? Because Dan Wooton is doing the same tonight despite saying it was because he was criticising Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2021.

Even if they couldn’t speak out about him, that doesn’t really back up the cuddling up to him that they did both on and off screen.

It's all a bit odd. It seems that a lot of people knew what was going on and some are now trying to get ahead of accusations they didn't speak out.

Could you tell me the difference between (1) a supposedly heterosexual man being outed as gay and (2) a man married to a woman being exposed having an affair with another man ?

Because speaking as a gay man, I have to be honest, I’m massively confused by your post.

Don’t go there with the hate crime stuff.
1 is being 'outed' re their sexuality
2 is being exposed to have cheated on his wife. The gender is not relevant in terms of the cheating

I am not totally up to speed on this Schofield thing, but it sounds like whatever is due to come out will be bad and I can't say I am surprised at all. These days it could be anyone in the TV business/entertainment industry that is 'outed' for whatever behavior

I am currently though, in agreement here with what Aet says. The hysteria around the Schofield scandal from what we have learned so far, has had me thinking, how do people think that makes people such as Aet feel?

There has got to be more that is far worse to drop on Schofield because so far all I have seen is what Aet himself has pointed out and suddenly there's a baying mob for what's known on the street as 'Noncing him off' :ROFLMAO: People think he is another Savile .. but what has happened, other than he's done something that we know fine well happens anywhere else.. just without cameras/tabloid headlines and baying social media mobs??? That is all I have seen reported and once I am at the end of an article wondering, well .. where is the rest?

It isn't illegal if he happened to have gotten into a sexual relationship with a person of legal age, is it? But depends on the circumstances I guess .. which we will soon learn of by the looks of things.

All I have seen the past few days is folk behaving like he's down there with the sickest of pedophiles, and I guess the fact his brother is serving time for what he has done does not help, like ... but the way it must be making other people feel who are actually in normal, consensual relationships where there is quite a significant age gap... I find it disturbing, to be frank.

No one would bat an eyelid if the hardest lad in the area walked into the pub with an 18-year-old under his arm, and he was knocking 50. :ROFLMAO:

Folk is frothing at their gobs to wake up to a Mail headline that Schofield went to levels the likes of Savile did, using his status to get him what he wants. I find that disturbing too when you think about it.

So as Aet points out .. I am still waiting to find out what he has actually done. I have no interest in the lives of the likes of PS, to put it mildly, but you can't get away from it the past few weeks. What a load of fuckin' racket.

If it turns out he was a serial N0nc3 and abuser then I hope he gets the punishment he deserves, but at the minute I just find it all a bit odd ..

I am not sticking up for Schofield at all, I have no knowledge of the other details behind why ITV has dropped him which we're yet to hear, obviously

I am merely asking the question .. where is the information exactly about what he has done that is so bad, it has sent folk into a frenzy such as we are seeing right now.. ???

Aet - I hope you're alright fella. Don't let owt get to you such as this. The media love winding people up to death when there's fk all there to see (though there may be in this instance, we're yet to learn) and folk fall for it every single time, sadly.

The issue here is not gay vs straight as pointed out by others.

It's that a person in a position of power seemingly helped someone who was underage with their career, then entered a relationship with them (reportedly when they were of legal age), while being married, and the whole thing was hushed up.

It was then hushed over by said person using 'coming out' as a way to divert what had happened (allegedly)

The reason the gay debate comes into it is because it seems like this 'coming out' was a disingenuous cover up of what had actually happened (allegedly), and makes a complete mockery of those facing struggle or prejudice with their own sexuality IMO

If 'the hardest lad in the area' as you put it, knew that person from the age of ~12 through one of their talent agencies, helped them get a job in their place of work, then started dating them when they became 18 while being married, and made others keep quiet about it, would you have an issue?

If you wouldn't, you have no morals.

Not sure, if we have all the facts, that ps has done anything other than, probably, committed an act of gross misconduct at work and was fired for it.

What went on with him and his wife is there business.

This of course assumed there is not more to this.

Worth remembering in all this that Schofield knew what his brother had done and, by his own admission, just told him not to do it again rather than report to the police.
This is where the media thinks this is going I think. Schofield was helping his nonce brother go under the radar, but also grooming a production runner, or at least that’s what they’re hoping for.

Obviously I’ve no idea if it’s true, but it certainly doesn’t mean gay men are any more likely to be paedophiles than anyone else even if it is, it’s an isolated example (if true).

How many people on here have had / having sexual or other relationships whilst married or with a partner and covered it up with lies?
Names below please:

That’s it in a nutshell.
Lots of stuff on here with no proof.

There is a problem tho - Schofield has twice apologised profusely for lying.
It will lead to speculation

From what I know so far he used his power and influence to get someone (young) a job and then shagged them.
That is a massive abuse of power and trust - stinks

Can’t believe how many people are missing the story. It’s got nothing to do with him being gay.

If a straight male TV presenter met a 12 year old girl, then over the years went on to develop a friendship with them on social media and having lunch together, then when she turned 18 he got her a job at the show he worked at then proceeded to bang her behind his wife’s back, you don’t think that would be a story?

Now imagine it’s not a TV presenter, it’s someone at your place of work. You don’t think your employer would take a very dim view of this?

It’s grooming and abuse of position of power.
