Saturday night in the Boro!

Despite it being an opportunity to make some real money after the last 18 months of closure/limited openings a Middlesbrough Town Centre bar owner has decided to remain closed tonight after what he described as "a "s***storm" of a night" on Saturday and then describing a catalogue of horrors due to the behaviour of people in town.

In other news Linthorpe Road was closed late on Saturday night after a multi vehicle crash which ended up with one car "embedded" into a shop front. Having seen the way people park & drive on Linthorpe Rd at night I'm surprised this hasn't happened before.

Don't know about last night in Boro but just been down Darlo town centre and said to the wife it's going to be carnage tonight whatever happens, loads of people out and the pubs pretty busy 7 hours before kick off.

Went to Boro for a meal about two weeks ago and was shocked at the state of Linthorpe Road. From ABC upward to old Excel the pavements were littered with cigarette ends. Not one or two but hundreds is not thousands. That wasn't the real issue though. There was gangs of youths/men stood about drinking shouting and bawling and generally annoying passes by. All appeared to be white English exept for guy who seemed to be ringleader who looke Easter European. Could be totally wrong on that though. Obviously selling drugs as there was two lads, one at either end of where they sat, who were either on look out or doing Merekat impersonations. One gave a load of abuse to my sister because she would not give him a cigarette until she told him to do one.
I am not usually one to be intimidated by these people but it was still daylight when we left. Not sure what it would be like later on. Can imagine a few would be even in daylight. I thought council made it an offence to drink on the streets of Boro. You would be surprised to hear that there was not a police officer in site eother on foot or in a car in the couple of hours we were there.

Boro is and always has been an absolute dive and is an absolute cesspit for trouble. I only really go out match days and Will usually be in for 8ish, if I'm going out I tend to go to the villages surrounding.

Not always. Depends how far back you're going.

Yes it could be rough but Thursday through Sunday you could have a great time doing the town or drinking in the Village but it is awful now.

I used to go out all the time but as times gone on its absolutely awful now.

Are there any decent pubs in the Town worth going into nowadays. Bedford and Baker fine if you like bizarre ales and ciders.

I'm sure when I was 18 and loving going out years ago there were blokes in their 40s saying how it's rubbish nowadays and it was better years ago.

That's just how it goes, we get older and prefer a quieter more relaxed night.

I'm sure the 18-25 year olds still love the town on a weekend, especially after being closed for so long.
100% accurate.

There's plenty of decent pubs in the town, and for the older crowd....what a load of big girls blouses you lot are 😆

I enjoy a Saturday out with a mate of mine, start of Baker Street with a couple of Micro pubs, then on to Linthorpe foad, glass fronted sticky fingers pub, where they play live music, usually a pub a few stops dow DJ playing the 80's then onto TS1, excellent night 👌👍
It is the company you are in that is the important thing not the location 👍

I know he'll be reading so, he's not registered but reads the board regularly

enjoy your upcoming holiday & once home we'll hit those bars again Mark, fingers crossed 👍

I must be one of the few who doesn't enjoy the Baker St scene - last time I was in Twisted Lip it was full of chavs moaning about the price of the drinks and just being arses. I'll try again once they open up normally & things have settled down a bit.

You think that’s acceptable ?
Would you have brought skin colour or ethnicity into it if they had all been black African or Muslim Asian ? I doubt it. So your racism is acceptable is it just like your hypocrisy.
No you halfwit. I said that because people are always bleating on about the number of immigrants in the town. I have no problem with people of any colour or ethnic background and I resent being called a racist by someone like you.
