We have three big events on Saturday as Local History Month really begins to crank up.

- Middlesbrough To The Max - Teesside Archives will be investigating the Max Lock plan - a wartime survey carried out in 1944 that would have seen a radical redesign of post war Middlesbrough.
Visitors can explore a range of materials, including original documents, maps and photographs at Teesside Archives (Dorman Museum) 10am - 12noon Sat 3rd May.

- At 1pm til 3pm you can use your Power and Imagination to create a poster of Middlesbrough's urban landscape and positive vision for the future. Inspired by the powerful and optimistic imagery of classic Soviet posters.
The location Floor 7 of Dundas House, Middlesbrough TS1 1HY has panoramci views.
Booking is essential powerandimaginationworkshop@gmail.com

- May Day Partisans Party 7pm to late at The Chapel, Whitehouse Street TS5 4BY (near Newport Bridge)

A very special event hosted by historian Tony Fox, guest Alfio Bernabel with historian Ian Stubbs recounting the SS Arandora tragedy, torpedoed wihilst carrying interned Teesside Italians.

Nice mix of things to do. You get archives in the morning, a creative workshop in the early afternoon, and a themed party later on so you can pick what fits your schedule. Good lineup for anyone interested in Middlesbrough’s past.
