Sam Morsy - Three Year Deal

No mate the guy who posted the above information is someone different. Another guy said a midfielder has been at Rockliffe since Monday and is close to signing. I presume this is Morsy. I really hope it is. He is my no 1 choice for the DM role and has been since I heard we were in for a DM. He’s class, midfield destroyer
I hope you are right - exactly what we need in a player

If Morsy is as good as people think (and I've no reason to doubt it, captain and player of the year for the form team in the championship this calender year) and he's available for a low fee, then he'll have a few offers to mull over I'm sure. Hopefully this time we've done enough to convince him.

I have seen him enough to form that opinion of him. Way better option for us than Kevin Stewart. I hope we have done enough to convince him too but wouldn’t be surprised if this time tomorrow he is holding up another clubs shirt.

very good

looks like we are probably not in for Morsy then, which would be a shame

he didnt play for wigan at the weekend amid speculation he was close to a move - hope Im wrong, he would be a brilliant signing

1 Alex Bass - With Warnock seemingly quick to dismiss and interest in Dillon Phillips the only other keeper that we have been regularly linked with is Alex Bass. Aynsley Pears is in his final year and will be looking for first team football. I can see him going to Blackburn.

5 Sam Morsy - After apparently missing out on Joe Williams.. going for the superior club captain seems to make a lot of sense. Left out of the team soon after speculation means there might be some mileage in this one.

10 Cauley Woodrow - a name mentioned earlier in the window and then it seemed to go quiet. Seems to be picking up again after rumours of a a deal for Kenneth Zohore not going ahead. No movement on Patrick Roberts by the looks of it either.

19 Yaya Sanogo - this seems to be very close. Warnock obviously has a clear idea of the type of player he wants to bring to the club and what role he wants them to play. A much better Kieffer Moore

It seems to have gone quiet regarding a central defender with Warnock bigging op Paddy McNair as our Beckenbauer. Things seemed to have quietened down as far as a move goes aswell.

The comment regarding giving youngsters a chance and missing out on transfers meaning we've got the chance to uncover some real talent from our academy.. MUST BE ABOUT NATHAN WOOD the lad looks unreal. Goode no Good, Could Wood Be New Blood?

The club obviously needs players to improve the squad, but more importantly we need the right players that offer the right value, the budgetary margins we have mean we might miss out on players that can maximise their earning potential elsewhere, in any speculative business with a limited spend then value should be the ultimate driver.

As an example Morsy might represent a transfer fee bargain but his wage demands, agents fee or his age might mean that other options represent better long term value.

Morsy will end the window in the 3rd division if his demands were an issue . That should be enough of a deterrent .

They may be an issue to us with our limited budget but not to another team who are more cash rich, he’s 29 this week he’s obviously going to try and get as much as he can, I’m not saying that is the case, I don’t know, just using it as a hypothetical situation to highlight the nuances of transfers and contracts.

I would imagine agents are telling their clients to hang tight. They might be thinking that if teams start off with a few defeats, they might get twitchy and might be more likely to go for a panic signing or two and pay the wages the player wanted.

I think Warno is pretty open an honest about who he wants. If they're not up for it he's quick to move on to the next guy. It's a refreshing attitude tbh.

With fletch and Britt on thier final year I suspect wel have 2 strikers in by the time the window shuts .
The possibility of the league being cancelled will contribute to us not spending to our potential in this window .
