SAD

That's simply not true. We look after our own.

I look for your posts because I know you struggle and I enjoy seeing you engage. I will only reply if I'm interested in the conversation but I take heart that you are with us. Since this board started we have lost posters some to accident others to tragedy and we miss them. Many on here would miss you.

Take care UTB

Same AET - I look out for your posts as well.

My wife suffers a wee bit from SAD, some people don't get it but it is a very real thing. Winter, even over here can be quite tough, short days and long nights.

You can get one of those vitamin d lamps that might be worth a try.

I have definitely noticed a better mood in the winter since moving to the US. It might be minus 25 some days here in Chicago, but it's usually blue skies and sunshine too. Each time I come home for Christmas it takes some adjusting to the low, grey and miserable skies.

And I'd notice AET, I reckon you are the only other Pet Shop Boys fan on here besides me!

Winter Sunshine, what’s that’s?

Did you go to the Unity Tour ?

These past few days I have been feeling completely and utterly disconnected from anyone and everyone. Work, friends, family I mean everyone.

And it’s no coincidence the clocks went back on Sunday.

Fkg hate this time of year.

Utb
It’s absolutely rank mate. There defo more to it that the sunlight thing (not that it helps) dark nights, cold and wet. It dampens the mood and crushes rare day to day interactions.

Ok so I’ll admit I’ve just had flu (or a very bad cold) and I can’t shake it off two weeks in and i feel ****. I’ve been completely ignored at work all week and quite frankly I may as well be non existent. I went to a football match on Saturday (it wasnt Boro) and was appalled at the fan behaviour and the antics of some of the people I had the misfortune to be sat near and be around. Found it utterly depressing and quite frankly, I don’t want to go to another match again in a hurry, although I’ve got a ticket for Norwich away. I’ve lost interest in just about anyone and everything. Couldn’t be bothered following last nights game at all. Went to bed to try to forget but the alerts on my phone kept me awake. Been trying to watch some LGBT drama on Netflix but I just can’t get into it.

Life sucks.

I’ll probably be ok in the morning. I hope.

I had a ticket for the original date in 2020, but of course Covid put paid to that one. The rearranged date was when I was at a conference in Switzerland so unfortunately I missed it.

Was saying to the Mrs the other day this time of year is worse than winter I don't mind cold and sunshine but Oct November are the worst months. Yarm fair Halloween bonfire night always s***y damp wet weather. Get out and walk when you get a good day of sunshine that's what I do with my dogs.

People can be absolute tools.. don’t let that out you off Norwich away!
Hull fans giving Yusef some stick and having the entire boro crowd behind him should go some way to restore your faith in.. good football stuff.

A cruel twist wanting a bit off peace and quiet and shut off from the world… then Michael Carrick turns it round at the boro to whoop Hull 3-1!!

Netflixes..

Feel Good - Mae Martin, a comedian and recovering addict, tries to get a hold of her life but things complicate further when she starts dating George.

Russian Doll - Emmy-nominated actress Natasha Lyonne stars in this comedy-drama series as Nadia, a young woman who is on a journey to be the guest of honor at a party in New York City. But she gets caught in a mysterious loop as she repeatedly attends the same event and dies at the end of the night each time -- only to awaken the next day unharmed as if nothing had happened.

I don’t like this time of year or the pet shop boys. But, I look for your posts as I know you struggle.
Sincerely hope you feel better soon. Look after yourself mate. UTB.

I know no one would miss me if I wasn’t here but Was beginning to to think I’m invisble
Don't think I've ever commented on your posts mate because I have no knowledge or experience of your troubles and therefore nothing I can contribute that might help, but that doesn't mean I don't take an interest - to reiterate what others have said, you'd definitely be missed, and don't for one minute think you wouldn't be

Take care

I remember once returning to England on a plane, up in the sunlight above the clouds looking through the gaps in the cloud at the grey towns and fields in the shade below, and it really hit home how gloomy it can be!

Have you ever had a winter holiday abroad, AET? A week somewhere with a bit more sunshine, to give you a lift?

(I'll throw my name into the Pet Shop Boys hat too!)
