Sad to watch our demise under Warnock

I must admit I find our situation under Warnock very sad . I am a fan of his, but it patently just isn’t working for him and he appears to have taken us near as damn it full circle since he was appointed.

It appears to be reaching breaking point between him and a sizeable section of the fan base resulting in some chants of getting sacked in the morning. Reports of fan fighting amongst our own. Warnock alluding to the fact that he is still the best option and wishing good luck to his potential successor.

It could be argued some players don’t appear to want to put it in for the manager.

Frankly, it’s a mess, and a mighty one at that. We appear to be far from a happy ship. Constant criticisms of various players by Warnock do little to help relationships and also it is likely to cause friction and disharmony at a time when we really need everyone singing from the same song sheet.

What is apparent is these factors are undoubtedly affecting results. It isn’t helped with us still being ineffective in front of goal.

So what is the answer? Do we really need more change? Frankly, the way Warnock is - and his willingness to throw all and sundry under the bus- if our form continues in the same vein there is little alternative in my view than to dispel with his services.

Is this the way for his career to end? Absolutely not. But if results follow a similar pattern then Gibbo will be reluctantly forced to pull the trigger.

Reluctant?

Scene in the Chairmans Office on Monday

SG: Neil Ive spent £6m on an Argentine International and hes not even in the squad?

NW : Hes not fit Steve. Hes a foreign lad and it will take 18 months before he is ready. You told me that about Juninho didn’t you?

SG : And James Siiki? We have got him on loan at some expense. Cameroon Internationat

NW: The same Steve. Not ready. I didn't want him anyway. No experience at this level.

SG: Alright then what about our top scorer Uche - bought to score goals for us?

NW: Am only going to use him as cover. An impact player with 15 mins to go like. Dont expect many goals. He cant last 90 minutes.

SG: Isiah Jones started on fire and he isn't featuring now?

NW: He's very young. Not up for the fight at the moment. He has been one of the problems sadly.

SG: You’re sacked.

Warnock is good at putting together .. I don't mean this to be unfair .. "glorified pub teams" .. a team of hard workers and grafters who work hard, get in your face with an up and at 'em style of play ... and it's worked well in the past at championship level but he's always struggled in the Premier League because you need more than that. The Championship is becoming more like a Premier League 2 with good teams and good players (at the top end) and that "don't like it up 'em" style of play isn't cutting it anymore as teams can just play around it.

Technical players like Payero and JLS (although, the jury is still out on them for me - certainly JLS) don't fit with a Warnock team .. when he's talking about fitting in and fitness .. he's talking about charging about the pitch and grafting like a Warnock-esque player has to do .. to be chasing back to our own box tracking the runners one moment and then to be there at the top end of the pitch to pick up a second ball after the big Oooof up field drops .. in a footballing side, Payero would already be playing in the center of midfield and would be up to the pace of the Championship .. but not in a Warnock team as he probably doesn't run around too much.

He spent many an after-match interview last year saying that if we had "their striker" up front we'd have won this game or that .. he said it about Toney, about Moore, about Uche plus a couple of others .. he brings Uche in to play the Warnock way .. but then we turn to Sporar .. Now, it maybe that Sporar was forced upon him and he feels obliged to play him .. but he said about Sporar that " .. he's a different player to Uche .. not a target man .. likes to play off the shoulder" .... yet Warnock puts him in the team and we continue to play Oooof ball.

We've just had 3 years of that with Britt .. playing a style our main striker isn't cut out for .. it doesn't work.

If we're going to continue to play Oooof ball .. then Uche has to be up there fighting the hairy-ar$ed defenders and have Sporar playing off him .. but instead we have Sporar leading the line (when Warnock has already said that isn't is thing) .. with Crooksy kind of doing a deep lying target man role from midfield. Again, It doesn't work. Barring running around a lot - Crooks is now completley ineffectual .. he did well the first few games because he was supporting Uche and was benefitting from running off him. But now he's just there to try and win headed flicks (when the ball isn't Ooofed to Sporar but to him instead) .. and then he's 10 / 15 yards behind the play if Sporar manages to get on the end of one.

We have been decimated by injuries
Not Warnock's fault
Fisher, Ameobi, Djiksteel, Payero, Hernandez, Hall and now Fry.. he"s doing OK given the circumstances.
Might have to recall Wood if possible...

Gibson gives them time.
In the last two decades which Club has produced the most England Managers?

SG 1 week later : After interviewing many potential managers from all over the world, Jonny Howson was the outstanding candidate.
Stewey Downing is training at Rockcliffe isn't he?

Putting two and two together...................
