Sad day today.

I honestly though Wilder was the manager we needed and would finally get us back up.

It’s been evident for weeks though that something was badly wrong and that the players weren’t playing for him.

Gibson really needs to get this next appointment right, no cheap fix like giving it Leo full time please 🙏

My only worry is that not even Pep can do anything with our midfield

Saturday was a sadder day.

‘He wasn’t backed in the transfer window’. …..
So frickin what - most managers don’t get what they would like.

He courted Burnley, the trust was gone.
He called out the players mistakes - just another manager who could fo no wrong.

Bye bye now

I am dissapointed in this as well, would have given him longer but then you do not know what has been going on nehind the scenes

Chrus Wilder has no plan B at all, and his plan A wasn't working so what exactly were we supposed to do? We are underperforming considering the players we have at our disposal, yes the midfield is thin but there is still enough quality in there to compete with most teams in this division if deployed in the right way. Wilder only has Wilders way, and that is the reason we are were we are

We knew this was a major shift in the way we play, the future and a major rebuild... all this does not take 1 season...
Unfortunately fickle fans cant see past their nose.

The problem now is we just rinse and repeat the manager cycle. No consistency, new style, new players, bla bla bla here we go again

We're in the relegation zone and just lost to the bottom side, what are we willing to risk here?

I would have definitely given him more time. I still think we were an outside bet for relegation and, in my opinion, we wouldn't be risking promotion as it was never likely this season anyway.

After he made a come and get me plea to Burnley He should have been shown the door in the summer. An arrogant man whos only thought was furthering his own career.

He clearly wanted out ( as I said at the time) and I genuinely think after that his heart wasn’t in the club anymore.

He lost the players from then on.

Exactly how did he want out???

By not instantly making a press conference? Give over..

There has been no indication he "wanted out" or was dragging his heels.

Below are two extracts from his Media Conference on Friday:

As for rumours, gossip and speculation on social media and elsewhere, Chris laughed at some of the suggestions, but said he didn`t have social media accounts - unlike some other Managers - preferring to focus on the serious job of managing players and getting the team to the next level. "Everybody has to deal with noise and nonsense..". "I can understand a little loss of faith and trust"[from the fans], but "I`ll never try to spin opinion with the fans..". "I`m still contracted for a further 18 months". He`s not going anywhere - there was a steely look in his eye and an expression which said "don`t ask me that again". Move on!

"Is [your] future away from Middlesbrough with Bournemouth"?

A resounding "NO"! was his response. He was unequivocal. No one was left with any doubt:

" 100% NOT. Its nonsense what`s happened. I dealt with that speculation a month ago and put it to bed. Its come from nowhere, where its not needed by anybody, I`ve just laughed it off really". "I think that`s what happens when teams don`t get results that maybe they expected.....its part of the industry you have to deal with". He was disparaging of journalists and others, claiming that untruths and speculation was "...disrespectful to players, the Manager and the football club". "(I)...concentrate on what (I) control". I still have the "hunger" - 100%". My drive to take MFC to the higher level (?) "Its huge". Chris Wilder says convincingly, that he loves football as an apprentice, a player, a coach and a Manager". The "fire" is still in his belly. .....................

Totally disagree. Howson, Crooks, McGree, Mowatt, Luongo and McNair are all solid Championship midfielders at worst. They didn't have the pace to do what a Wilder wanted, but that's why we need a manager who isn't set on playing a certain way regardless of whether we have the players to do it or not.
