Ryder Cup - Home Crowd

Just pure pig headed yank attitude/behaviour. Its what got them their arses kicked in Afghanistan and Vietnam.
I like the spectacle, I like the good natured banter but not bad sportsmanship.
Credit to some of the US players who actually remonstrated with the crowd for their s4it show behaviour.
On the golf side, Europe are pretty much getting the tanking I thought they would. Too many out of form players, not enough of them ar the top of the current rankings. I think Poults an Westwood are probably past it now Rory and Tommy are not good enough on current form. Time for a changing of the guard. Probably more focus on some younger European players coming through in Victor's footsteps.

Sky seem to be blocking all of their streams so not only did I have to hear the US crowd, I had to have the US commentary too.

Well I would have done if I hadn’t muted it.

There was a group of them on the News last night, what a bunch of prats, apart from one, who was a Megga Prat.

The BBC put up the last 12 Ryder Cup scores and I think it was 9-3 to Europe. The Americans may feel they are the long term underdogs in golf and thats something they are desperate to change. When I first followed it the Americans were pretty dominate.

Do you also feel that the match feeds are delayed so that we watch them all putt and then have an ad break? The Fleetwood match seemed to be playing at a slower pace yesterday and yet everything still seemed to remain synchronised. Coincidence perhaps.
ps Did anyone else spot DeChambeau move his ball when he grounded his club only to quickly pull the club away?

I thought this and even rewound the tele to have another look. Nothing was mentioned about it though.

Booing the European team, applauding and cheering European mistakes is not sportsmanship, but hey that's America and they must win at any cost. Ditto for Australia, another country lacking in history and culture.

Not watched Henman and Murray at Wimbledon then ?

Incredible hypocrisy from football fans. We were the first to embrace poor sportsmanship, the other sports, cricket, tennis, golf etc are just catching up.

what annoys me the most are the idiots who shout Freedom, what the F has that got to do with Golf"??

It was to be expected, I suppose. We know the Americans lack in class and subtlety and this was more so the case from the 1st tee on Friday morning. I can accept the singing and chanting but to purposely want players to put balls into the water and bunkers is just not golf, no matter what you're playing for.

Part of why I find golf to be the greatest sport on the planet is because of our etiquette. The US team, in credit to them did their part in playing down some areas of hostile abuse.
