How the Mighty have fallen.
Thought Shotton might have done better, Gestede definitely not, biggest waste of space and money ever.....well on second thoughts there have a been a few....

Really thought he would have got a better deal. Personally I think it would have been great if he'd stayed.

I’m very pleased to have signed with Melbourne Victory. It’s a club which has been very successful, has a huge fan base and I can’t wait to get there,” Shotton said.

“After speaking with Grant Brebner, he outlined a very clear vision about the football he wants the team and myself to play, so that made the decision to come to Victory very easy.

“I’ve obviously played with Rudy Gestede as well, so I’m looking forward to linking up with him and all my new teammates. As a team we want to play exciting football, win games for the members & fans and help get the club back up the table.”

Average attendance for them is:
Approx 17,300.

Not a bad place to go to "wind down" your football career. How much money is there in Australian football?

He was a decent player for us overall. Unlike the other one who ended up at the same club.

I thought he did? Didn't he leave after a few games re injury?

Yes, he signed on until the end of the season, played some games and then picked up an injury and it was at that point they mutually agreed for him to go. I seem to remember Warnock saying it wasn't fair to him to ask him to play in the last couple of matches after he got himself fit again as he could have got injured again and ruined his chances of a new deal elsewhere.

My mistake - I forgot about that.

Good luck to the lad, he won’t be making much profit from his pub, so he might as well go down under and drink the amber nectar!
