Rosie Jones

Are we really debating who we think is funny and who’s not? Maybe this is for another thread without Rosie as the title?

Rosie makes me laugh. I find the odd timing particularly funny.

As Katherine Ryan described her. Your palsy is cerebral as fu(k.

I don’t find most women comedians very funny. I used to like Joan Rivers but I’m struggling to think of many more - maybe it’s just me 🤷🏼‍♂️

I haven’t heard of him, shall investigate 👍🏻

You won’t regret it.

You may know him as Spencer if you watched Phoenix Nights.

All his stand-up shows are great but I’d recommend starting with Midnight at the Stand. 👍🏻

It’s a tough call.. every changing for me.
He’s definitely up there! Can’t believe I missed out Richard Herring!
I really liked Richards column in the evening standard but I can't abide his Stand up. Weird.

Oh I should say this, my wife knows Richard. She had a blog a few years ago that was quite funny about life as a geriatric mother. She emailed Richard to chat about how to take it forward. They became quite good friends and we have been out to dinner with him. He is a lovely bloke. For balance!

Yeah, I get what you mean.

Rob Newman has blown Dan Kitson out of the water last two times I’ve seen him btw
Now that we can agree on. 😎

I saw them at the town hall as Newman and badiel and I saw his solo show at the arc a few years ago. Brilliant

The History of oil is genius.

Both Richard Herring’s parents are from Middlesbrough, although he loves to talk about how terrible the town is in his half joking way. His podcasts with Bob Mortimer as a guest are always great listens as he clearly loves and admires him both professionally and personally.

I was sat just infront of him at the york game.. my wife told me on the way home.

I never knew that

Much like bob, he is great conversationally. I just don't like his standup and I say that as someone who knows him, at least marginally, as a friend

I’ve been a fan since the Fist of Fun days and bought a few of his specials on DVD back in the day. They’re much better than the stuff I’ve seen him do on TV but I can see how some people might not get him the way I do. He’s a very good writer too but his podcasts over the years are where he’s really excelled. Some of the scripted sketch based ones have had me in stitches.
