Ronaldo gone!

You've done my argument for me cheers

a 4 game sample size!
It's not. It's a 14 game sample size.

And that's just the league.

We can compare points/goals scored etc from 20/21 to 21/22 too if you wish?

It's mind blowing that people love Ronaldo that much in their head, they'll genuinely believe not having a different striker makes the entire team play better :ROFLMAO:

$36m a year wages.. more than paid for himself with the increase in revenues!
this is exactly why the board did not cancel his contract in the summer, glazers all about the commercial opportunities/sales, tag will of told them he was surplus to requirements, no one wanted to give them a fee for him as it makes the deal not work out financially and I genuinely think they just wanted to keep that money train going until at least january to milk more money from the utd and ronaldo fans all over the world.

they under estimated him thinking they could probably do it in jan, but ronaldo isn't stupid, nor will he stay where he isn't wanted and he played the board well with that interview to force their hands and also cut them off from any commercial opportunities and sales they had left in the tank as no fans were buying his shirt/merch after that interview so they had no reason to keep him on and pay another £39m from jan onwards, forcing their hands on the release.

they should of tried to do this in the summer, it would of made more sense (and looked better for the club) but I think the owners just treat the club as an investment and want them dividends from the profits, and he was very profitable even on the bench until he cut that off with his interview.

I could be wrong also but think people are jumping the gun thinking the glazers are now selling up after this, I think thats an option but they may just get someone to invest what they need to revamp Old Trafford and the training facilities and just dilute their share holdings to give shares to the investor

Seriously lads, knowledge of man utd isn't something you should be boasting about, it's something to be ashamed of. like my shrine to Lorraine Kelly. I don't go bringing that up in every thread.

It's obviously not the case that Ronaldo is a bad player per se (although he's also not as good as he once was).

He doesn't fit into Ten Haag's system though, hence why he's not been playing, has had a tantrum and has now left.

Ten Haag would have been required to develop a new style to accommodate Ronaldo, something (understandably) he's not willing to do.

In his prime you probably do build a side around him, but not now.

I would hazard a guess that his next job will be playing a central striker somewhere. Probably a sub-top tier side where his only responsibility is to put the ball in the back of the net.

He said he was going to finish his career at sporting.. he also said he wants to retire at. 40

not long left? one last spin at the champions league ?

pointless going to a Saudi club..

MLS? only if it was some mega deal, part owner thing.. maybe with Inter Miami. How good did David Beckham do btw with that deal!!

LA Galaxy seem a bit naff now imo..

I’m guessing it would have to be a Nike club.. cos of the extra payments needed?
