Rob Edwards on BBC Tees 6-7pm

Drury is BBC local radio - the good and the not so good - there is a touch of "I am doing this as a volunteer you know".

I’m warming more and more to Edwards. He seems like a good guy and knows what he wants. I really want him to do well.

I must also say though that “doing well” based on our current squad depth and quality would mean mid table in my opinion. If he gets 3 or 4 in before Swansea then maybe the expectation levels might rise a bit but he doesn’t have much to work with right now.

HH is in an awkward position now.
If he leaves he will be castigated for life by many Boro fans for putting personal fortune before sporting glory with his hometown team.
If he stays he will deny Boro the funds to strengthen the team with better players in several much needed positions
I liked the way Edwards looked to take pressure of him by saying it was a win-win situation.

We either get funds or keep a top championship player.

I only got to listen to the first half of the interview whilst travelling home from work, so didn't get to hear what the back-up plan is for when/if Conway gets injured.

There is one, isn't there?!!!!

Forss has played there every game pre-season and burgzorg once or twice. Both have scored goals at this level.

But he also said improving competition is needed.

Yeah his quips and little sarcky comments irritate me
Seems to condescend Maddison a lot. Maybe it’s in good humour but doesn’t come across well.

Also, if you are watching the match whilst listening you realise how much he describes incorrectly or how his options are often wrong. Basic stuff about the rules etc but that’s no different to tv pundits and commentators, l suppose we have come to accept that standard.

Tries Too hard to get what rewritten bad jokes his got into the commentary rather than just being authentic

I wonder how some of our fans would have coped in August 1986 - we had four recognised defenders in the whole squad when we played our first game.
