Rishi caught on camera saying he'll remove funding from deprived areas

What about 2010 and 2015?

I see them as less of a missed opportunity personally. In 2010 the choice was between cuts, more cuts or what turned out to be Nick Cleggs lies. In 2015 the choice was between cut more or leave the cuts as they are. 2017 and 2019 were the years when we were actually offered a political vehicle to change the direction the country has been going in.

But having said all that, I of course agree Brown and/or Miliband would have been preferable to Cameron. The pig botherer was an absolute disgrace as PM and tbh he should be publically shamed a lot more than he is. The UN investigated our country for the number of disabled people dying due to Cameron's austerity. It's disgusting to think about. What a national embarrassment.

Fingers crossed the tories end up out on their *rses and are never allowed back. Unfortunately I have zero faith that will be what happens in practice. A high proportion of folk over about ~40 in this country are for some mad reason addicted to posh old tories telling them to strap in for hard times. It's perverse.

We've seen this in action locally when Yarm got the £20m odd towns bid levelling up funding and Billingham town center got nothing.

I couldn't quite believe he said that in that sort of forum. I just naturally thought he had been secretly recorded by someone covertly rather than in such brazen fashion. At least he's honest though.

I honestly don't know why this is news, this is what the Tory's always do. If you believed all of the levelling up nonsense, then I think you need help.
This is true of course, but I think the significance is the openness with which Sunak and Truss are so right-wing thats the headline.

In years gone by Tories would get their message across through suggestion and inference, nut now its so brash and unapologetic its staggering.

Its divide and conquer politics, the USA are suffering the consequences of a populist government and I fear we are already down that track, with darker days yet to come.

Taking my socialist head off, there will be a lot of areas in need of funding that are surrounded by affluent Tory areas. Think of some of the normal working folk in places like Cornwall being priced out by wealthy people moving out of cities. Under the per capita guidelines it is very possible they would miss out. However, I doubt any Tory would be able to stomach a policy that benefits poor people across the country in a fair way and this new formula will clearly lead to funding going to affluent, Tory controlled areas at the expense of far more needy areas. Of course it'll be 'justifiable', but Sunak has given the game away, probably because he was in a friendly audience and unlikely to be challenged on it. No doubt the leak was from a Truss supporter (a truss for Truss 😁).

A Tory got caught telling the truth. That's a collectors item.

get a really bad vibe about him ... Truss a lesser bad vibe but worried ... These guys will lose the BJ Effect votes when the people who voted Conservative last general election ... No character no empathy and no charisma

He is more than happy and comfortable saying stuff like this, as they all are, because they are safe in the knowledge that there are zero repercussions from the masses, and it actually improves their standing with their lunatic fan base.

The Telegraph readers in a new poll come out overwhelmingly for Truss. Looks more like he’s had it.
The Tory political butchers shop must be running out of red meat to throw.
Even with another Truss classic. She’s looking more secure.

“ I spoke to my French counterpart last week to make it very clear that we expect French border guards to be working all hours in Dover to make sure our border is protected," says Liz Truss.

Not their job. The clue is not hidden in the title. “ French Immigration”
