RIP Jeff Beck - A Legend Passes At 78 Years Young

I was listening to an old Marc Maron WTF podcast the other day with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Gibbons has deep blues roots and spent a lot of time with Jimi Hendrix.

Apparently Hendrix was obsessed with everything Jeff Beck and Peter Green did, spending hour upon hour trying to work out how they did what they did. They were the two.

When Hendrix obsesses about your talent, that says it all.

Went to see him at Newcastle city hall nearly 20 years ago. Jan Hammer was on keyboards, awesome show, and I was on the front row. Rip

I remember buying a second hand copy of "Rough and Ready" and got hooked.
It sometimes seems as if all your heroes and those you admire are passing like ships in the night.
RIP

A guitar virtuoso if there ever was, RIP Jeff Beck, you will truly be missed!
After the heartbreak of the Yardbirds cancellation in Montreal in 1966, I continued to buy all of their and his music but I must admit it took me many years to finally partake the opportunity to see the great man live. Thankfully, I got to do that twice… both in Toronto, in 2018 with Paul Rodgers and Ann Wilson on the Stars Align Tour and then again just 3 months back in a show with Johnny Depp.
