RIP Florian Schneider - Kraftwerk

Autobahn . Blimey 1974 . Kraftwerk got me into electro pop when all classmates were listening to the Pistols and The clash

Another good guy gone. I remember seeing them on Tomorrow's World in 1975 telling us that they wanted to create musical clothing. It seemed incredible at the time.

I’d heard odd songs by them on MTV, but was in a taxi home from club M late 90s and taxi driver had an album on by them. Went out and bought their albums next day. Massive influence in the hip hop scene for sampling

IMO Mike Oldfield , Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk were fathers of dance and what dance evolved into .

Saw them at Newcastle City Hall in the late 70s. They opened with Trans Europe Express I think with the band replaced by dummies. It was feckin ages before we noticed. Sleep tight Florian ... bet he couldn't have predicted the influence that they would have upon black music/hip hop

Very sad news. A great band ahead of its time. Am just listening to Trans Euro Express now.
Autobahn was one of the first albums I ever bought in 1976.
