RIP Duggie Brown

3rd class riding is better than 1st class walking any day.

I love the film Kes and can’t count how many times I have read the book (Kestrel for a Knave) with students.

Duggie Brown was a funny man and great on the Comedians. I got to see him live at Great Yarmouth’s Windmill Theatre when starred in the Wheel Tappers and Shunter’s Club. Now that was a show - plenty of jokes for the kids and innuendos for the adults.

RIP and thanks for the memories.

Surely the best line from Kes has to be when Judd's preening himself in front of a mirror saying: "Some birds gonna be lucky t'neet."

Or, when noting Billy reading his book on kestrels, “I’m hoping to see a bird tonight but she’ll not have feathers on.”

Or words to that effect.
