As a centre mid, what aspects of the game do you think Robson was better at than Howson at in that position?

I just look at who i'd rather play against. Howson has a good football brain, no doubt about that but Robson is soo much more combative. Combine that with his wand of a left foot and his engine.

Howson's peak was better than Robson's.

But we didn't see peak Howson in a 'Boro shirt consistently. Peak Howson played for Leeds & Norwich.

The best version of Howson we got, wasn't the best version of Howson.

Hence why I would take the 'Boro version of Robson over the 'Boro version of Howson every single day of the week.

Yeah he was brought in to replace 10 plus goal a season Leadbitter.

As an (ex) centre midfielder myself, I'm taking Robson in my centre midfielder over Johnny Howson.

Doesn't quite work like that though i wouldn't think, we also brought in Assombolonga, Fletcher and Braithwaite to boost the goals output.

Sorry, but that's crazy, Howson is a way better player than Robson, both whilst at Boro and generally.

Robson was a decent signing, but he struggled at times playing centrally, hence he posted most games in a wider position.

I'm not even sure it's close between the two.

Robson’s goal at Sunderland was a thing of beauty as was his screamer against Hull.
