Ride for Ugo

I have just watched an article on ITV London's local news regarding Dr. Laurence Grant.

Dr. Laurence Gant, the Spurs doctor is completing a cycle ride taking in all the clubs that Ugo Ehhiogu played for. Gant will be starting at Glasgow Rangers and will be heading for Middlesbrough, Leeds United, Sheffield United and arrive at Aston Villa on 9 April, ahead of Spurs Premier League match. Grant will then cycle from Villa Park to the Club's training centre, Hotspur Way. All money raised will go towards buying defibrillators and providing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training for grassroots football clubs.

In the article, it mentioned the last Tweet that Ugo sent and I feel it sums the man up nicely. I have attached it below and if you get the chance follow Ugo's advice and #dosomethingkind.

Ride for Ugo

Ugo Ehiogu was an amazing father, husband, former Premier League footballer, and an inspirational Under-23s Coach at Tottenham Hotspur. On 20 April 2017, Ugo suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away in the early hours of the following morning.

Ugo believed in helping others, and in his now famous last tweet, even encouraged people to #DoSomethingKind, reminding us all how good it feels to help those less fortunate.

April 2022 will see the 5th anniversary of Ugo’s death and to celebrate his life, over a five-day period, we will be cycling between the football clubs that Ugo played for. Starting at Glasgow Rangers, we will travel to Middlesbrough, Leeds United, Sheffield United and Aston Villa to coincide with Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur on 9th April.

The final leg of the journey will see us cycle from Villa Park to Tottenham Hotspur’s Training Ground.

Money raised will go towards buying defibrillators and providing CPR training for grass roots football clubs. Together, we can support people of all ages to play and enjoy football safely.

All donations greatly received, no matter how small. Football is a community and together we can #DoSomethingKind.

Thank you for all your support and donations.
