I was looking forward to seeing him at Splendour in the Grass many moons ago but he played a few songs and walked off stage because there wasn’t many people that came to see him. What a knob. Hardly listened to him since.
 
Find him a bit boring really. Early Verve stuff was really good, Urban Hymns was mostly very good just his solo stuff does nothing for me. That said I watched that because I love Sonnet. Didn't like the new one with the Joan Armatrading sample but the Beach Boys track was ok. Thought the interview was the best part of it though.

He needs Nick McCabe to add his magic.
I always loved the early Verve stuff, too. I learned guitar in the mid 90s and Nick McCabe was a guitarist I really loved.
