Replacing Akpom..

34 goals in 82 appearances
5 goals in 39 appearances for his first season with us..
sent out on loan for a season 11 goals in 52 appearances for PAOK

I got shot down in flames for suggesting Latte Lath's goalscoring record was comparable if not better than that of Chuba Akpom..
Well, he's got 6 appearances and he's bagged 2 goals so far.. 2 goals in his next 33 appearences?

First 11 games Chuba Akpom had scored 2 goals

We're 8 games into the season.. could Latte Lath manage to score 1 more goal in the next 3..

Time will tell. Personally, I think that last year was a one off for Chuba and we've done well to get a hefty fee for him. I like the look of LL so far, he just needs to settle.

That said, after Saturday, I think Coburn has to start. He was immense.

I think you might right regarding Chuba’s goal scoring record being an anomaly last season. It seemed for a while last season like every time he arrived late in the box, the ball was just there for him to tap in for yet another goal.

His link up play and holding / shielding of the ball was consistently excellent though, and I think that’s what we miss the most from him

I disagree that Chuba's season was a one off. It may well turn out to be if he's continued to be played out of position at whichever club he finds himself at in the future but not if he'd stayed under MC.
I agree with Coburn starting and also agree with a few others who wouldn't mind seeing him and Lath tried up front. What Coburn does as a target man is something we've not had since I would say Ian Baird. His flick ons and headers are actually directed at on running players. I think Lath would thrive on that. Sorry Crooksy, I love you to bits and you had your best game for a long time last Saturday but you're making way my son.

REAL TALK:

Chuba Akpom 28 goals
Cameron Archer 11 goals
Aaron Ramsey 5 goals
average 14.6 goals a piece

Emmanuel Latte Lath 1in3
Josh Coburn 1in3
Morgan Rogers 1in3 goal contributions
Sam Silvera 1in3 goal contributions

40 divided by 3 would give 13.3 goals a piece

Where to start with that...

I think it shows the idea of replacing Akpom by improving the squad overall.

Instead of 29 goals say..
having 3 players that will score 10

Muniz - didn’t really work
Archer & Ramsey joined in January

Having three players in from the start of the season.. permanent players would be an improvement. 17 goals from 3 players sounds manageable..
