But did anybody actually write ‘UTB’ back then? Not that it matters or anyone cares

Pretty sure writing UTB came in the last ten years.
The first time I hear the expression 'up the Boro' was over 50 years ago from my elderly grandmother. It was said with such passion it always stuck with me.

Surprised that so far nobody has mentioned the Rattles.
Big and heavy enough to dislodge any away supporters head, no matter the size.

I used to have one.
I just wish I had kept hold of it.

There was always a bloke standing outside the ground after full time selling gazettes shouting ' halftime scores'.
Not the best marketing strategy these days.

My dad always used UTB when ending his phone calls with family and friends instead of saying ‘see ya‘ etc.

My old fella always used to put that if he had to write anything on my birthday card or sent some post on, but obviously written in full (Up the Boro rather than UTB)!

Used to sit infront of Jeff Winter in my very early days. His language was colourful about the other officials!! Great guy and had brilliant times.
