Relegated Teams

Norwich and Watford certain to go up automatically, if Bournemouth go up via the play offs that would be all three relegated teams going up at the first time of asking.
Has that ever happened before?

It hasn't happened before no, and hopefully Bournemouth ensure it won't happen this time either.

They have a very good squad for the Championship, wouldn't be so sure

They do, but they've slipped down the table consistently in the second half of the season.

They were 2nd at Christmas, they're currently 7th.

It wouldn't really be a shock if they do get promoted, given their players, but I hope it doesn't happen.

Why hopefully? Assuming Watford are certainties to go up with Norwich that leaves Brentford, Swansea, Barnsley Reading . Not one of them will I be rooting for so not fussed if Bournemouth go up.

If Bournemouth don't go up they are going to have to get rid of a lot of high earners as we had to.
They've made £90m in losses over the last two seasons and owe £124m in loans.
Even on their worst days, most championship clubs attendances are higher than their capacity.
This gamble may be a bridge too far.

For the reasons listed above by Lemmy, and the fact I would vastly prefer Barnsley to go up.

Mainly because they're a Yorkshire club doing it on a relative shoe string, but I'd also think it would really reflect well on the legacy of their sadly deceased owner that he passed them on to get them promoted.

Fair enough. Barnsley are doing it on a limited budget yes but they are owned by a very wealthy Group so not bothered about them myself. Any I’m not from Yorkshire either but we don’t root for Sunderland just because they are local.

Because we have a rivalry with them.

But I absolutely am hoping Hartlepool get promoted, and that's because they're local.

Barnsley are more a rival now given we are in the same league as them. This plucky Barnsley nice small club stuff. Nah not having it.

could be possible that the 3 teams that came up from league 1 go back down

could be the most pointless championship season ever

as well as 2 of last years promoted teams coming straight back down from the premier league

I tipped Bournemouth to go down this season, down to League One. If they don't manage to sneak into the play-offs and go up this season then I think they'll go down next season. I can feel it.

Surely Brentford can't fluff their lines yet again?

6 seasons in the top half between 3rd and 11th. Looks like a second season finishing 3rd. Two play off mess ups. Surely they'll do it this time?

Wouldn't mind if they did get promoted, but you'd have to admit it was funny if they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory yet again.

According to this site FIFTEEN players with over 30k/week

Would surely be a firesale, and lets not forget that the following players are out of contract, so yes their wages will drop off, but they will need replacing - Begovic, Carter-Vickers (return to spurs), Smith, Stacey, Gosling, Stanislas

Solanke, Brooks and Cooke will only have one year left, so do they cash in on their saleable assets or risk losing them next year for free! You would think at least one of those will be sold, Josh King was allowed to leave for a nominal fee with 6 months left, which tells you something about the finances.

This is the bigger issue, the parachute money is distorting the league and the gaps between the leagues are getting bigger
