Threaten to take away the safety certificate perhaps? And how would they enforce that ?

At every stadium ?Threaten to take away the safety certificate perhaps?
That is right - they can do it piecemeal in enforcing the closure of sections of the stadium.Threaten to take away the safety certificate perhaps?
See response above. All they would have to do is set an example or two and other clubs would take action. At every stadium ?
Is up to the Safety licensing authority - every football club has to have a Safety Advisory Group - for the first time I attended a meeting so fans now have a voice at what can be a meeting with consequence. I did tell everyone on here I was attending in advance if they had matters to raise. At every stadium ?
Pride Park too. Given that stadium's really just the Riverside with black & white paint, if it can work there then it should work for us.Where have we seen it this season? Sunderland, Cardiff, QPR, Norwich.. where else?
What I mean is that there is a fan culture… it’s not being herded in like cattle to a concrete box whilst being told to sit down with arms folded.
Fan culture is not pay up what we tell you when we tell you. Fan culture is supports of a club and community.. it’s not a bloated box ticking exercise dressed in high viz.
Good point.OK, so essentially fan welfare? I can see that.
However, I think there's contradiction between letting of pyro and promoting fan welfare.
One of the biggest issues I see in fan welfare is reduced allocations for travelling fans. Behaviour such as letting off pyro provide all the excuse clubs and police need to reduce allocations further.
7XL and 8XL home shirts have sold out. Need bigger sizes.Safe standing is going to be a bad idea at the rate the nation is getting fatter. People will end up stock in rows, or unable to get in them at all
Every team in Scotland have ultras groups, the scene up there is growing rapidly because they’re backed by other supporters. UB (Rangers Group) are facing trouble with the board at rangers at the moment and there’s nothing but support from the wider fan base for the group. Would be the same if Celtic faced trouble.'best support' is subject to opinion, i'm sure Rangers, Newcastle, Leeds would disagree. If you read the post I'm referring to Celtic's Green Brigade, which is their 'Ultras' they've gone from a group of about 200 to around 3000, and have in the process largely upset the rest of the fanbase as they believe they speak for all fans, I go to Celtic park 4 or 5 times a season, your hard pushed to find a fan who now doesn't think they are a negative influence

You can’t mention Leeds & Newcastle in the same breath as Celtic and Rangers because nobody in England comes close to the atmosphere & support of those two clubs. You’ll see when you go 3 or 4 times a season that Celtic Park is probably the best in the UK for support. They have 2 groups who produce incredible tifos week on week, they push charity work, and are fantastic in the stadium they stand for what they believe in so you will always face troubles with select fans from being such a vocal group as they are. Not everyone will love you. Due to the way they support they’re known all over the world for having such a great support and that’s down to those groups who create it.
Seems odd after decades of turning a blind eye that now they have issue with standing. Maybe it's to sell the rail seat infrastructure. They know clubs have no way of getting fans to sit down without alienating their fanbases. It is a fact - the licensing body for football grounds has been calling on clubs to take action. If you ask Red Faction they may well be aware of this.
It is something that has been building over the past couple of seasons.
Is it decades though? Probably an age thing but I don’t remember standing at the riverside pre about 2008Seems odd after decades of turning a blind eye that now they have issue with standing. I was told yesterday that they are back for the Hull game on Saturday.Do you think Red Faction will be out of their mood yet?? Back on Wed night??
