Red Faction??? Was there a boycott?

Yeah looking at the two match ban I do think they have been given leeway Bb.
are we alright just to do our thing?
yeah, just keep it sensible, stay safe, don't go overboard
thank you
YOU HANDED A FUGGIN BANNER IN GOODFAITH TO THE OPPOSITION FOR THEM YOU ABSLOUTE ROTTEN HORSE DIKC

I seriously doubt that there is anyone with that subset of thinking (even Grocer's)

And let's start making silly stuff up.

Personally, I like to attend a football match that is entertaining on the pitch and that's it, beyond that the nebulous concept of "atmosphere" is just something that is of no interest to me. I've sat in the Riverside with less than 10k in it and a virtually empty Ayresome. Both quiet enough to hear calls from the dugout across the pitch. I accept that there are groups that feel that they can help with the "atmosphere" and they don't bother me. Crack on. If I'm honest I find the drum and megaphone a minor irritation. But, if those groups want to do that they will get no criticism from me, until they start trying to circumvent the rules put in place to keep us safe without the caging of fans, sniffer dogs, etc. We read of progress being made with "Safe Standing" and that's great, not sure it's for me now, but choice is always a good thing. I've been in modern grounds with free standing and just more rails to control any surging. I used to stand on the Holgate but put my back to a rail for just that reason. Standing at a match is great (especially if like me you are over 6ft, not so much fun if your view is of the back of someone's jacket for the full 90) I'm not convinced rail seats will replicate the feeling of being in a real crowd and not sure I would enjoy that experience any more!

It's interesting to debate the issue but please don't make up what other people think. It makes you look silly.
You’ve made yourself look silly.

It’s been safe standing in the south for years. Highest % stand of sold tickets in the riverside. Promotion seasons, prem season, cup runs, maximum attendances - no incidents.

You must have been well happy when you could hear the little ginger b****d shouting at parmo kink to shoot, whilst others wanted an atmosphere akin to the European clubs.

Out of interest, how do you think the yellow wall started? Coincidence that 25000 germans turned up with megaphones, a drum, 100’s of flags and 1000’s of scarves or do you agree that it started small with a few passionate fans who grew it to be an international spectacle

Red Faction have been a force for positive change.. the biggest force in the past 15 years.. they brought about the change to the south stand.. improved the atmosphere 10 fold.. they showed our club in a great light and won the respect of fans across the county.. even lacking our mackem friend jealous and forcing their club to make them look like total whoppers.

Their stance on sky to has been spot on, the criticism of benefits street, the support of those facing difficult times.. Cyrus Christie and Chris Kamara to name just a few.

All fans in the stadium have enjoyed the spectacle whether they would like to admit it or not.. they have benefited greatly from the improvement in atmosphere and the good feelings brought through their displays.. whether some fans can recognise that or chose not to refinish that is for them.

A few minor faux pas should not mean the end for them nor should they be used by internet fans to create a social media pile on.

All fans should be represented.. and nobody has said that clearer and with greater effect for this club than red faction.

I do hope they come back bigger and better with the introduction of safe standing that they worked so hard to bring about.

Red Faction - a force for good in a desolate landscape of clueless numpties. Hats off.
couldn’t agree more, far too many people quick to jump on the bandwagon and believe the first thing they hear 😂

Why should RF account to you whiners for what they do?

They ain’t exactly a public body, and you lot aren’t the police!
Maybe because they want us to join or at least support them? If they want to represent us as a fanbase and grow organically, they need to convince us that they’re not spoiled kids throwing a tantrum every time they don’t get their way. Holding open meetings isn’t going to do it as most people value their free time too much to attend. They would achieve far more by being more active and open online. If not on social media then at least on the various forums like this one.

I'm not sure what the RF are trying to achieve from this boycott, do they expect the club to say they will turn a blind eye to any future breaking of the law inside football stadiums by any of their members? Personally I like the majority of what they bring to the riverside, could do without the drum and megaphone man, but they are starting to irritate me with some things they are coming out with, the flyers about phones and pics on social media was ridiculous, I don't think it was anything to do creating an atmosphere, more about keeping their anonymity which they seem to be very proud of, blurred faces and mystery. Sadly I think they need to remove their heads from their backsides and realise as a core group of about 50 I would guess? is about 0.2% of matchday fans, they speak for a very small sector, fans go and behave at matches in different ways and they need to respect the matchday experience is different for everyone. They are falling in to the path of Celtic's Green Brigade, which has alienated the majority of match attending Celtic fans, if RF aren't careful they will do the same

Some questions for people who know

1) Are RF actually boycotting matches? If no what is happening?Or is it just part of RF who is boycotting?

2)If yes to boycotting matches, what do you hope to achieve?

3) Has it got the response you wanted?

4) How do you feel about this forum and the thread on the boycott?

5) Do you feel communication between fans could be better?

It sounds like the main organisers have been banned.
2)If yes to boycotting matches, what do you hope to achieve?
not getting banned?
3) Has it got the response you wanted?
a bit of moaning on here?
4) How do you feel about this forum and the thread on the boycott?
it's not very pro red faction is it.. i'm gonna guess they are not that into it.
5) Do you feel communication between fans could be better?
I mean.. it's really bad. most people would say it could be better.
