Red Faction launch fantastic fundraiser to buy Middlesbrough season cards for key workers

Sadly the club should be doing this anyway it’s a small gesture come on gibbo do the right thing.

then that money can go other things nurses health workers need

It is a brilliant idea - am really pleased they have pushed forward on this - I tried to put this idea forward several weeks ago if you remember it was one of several really good ideas my friend Bjarte told me about from Norway. His other big scheme was to organise pub and cafe crawls around his home town and in fact he has since pledged to spend his money on his hometown businesses as much as possible for the next 12 months which will likely mean the end for his Boro season card.

I’m sorry but yes there are lot of things that we can’t do to help people in this crisis we sadly can’t magic up the PPE they desperately need and we can’t create a vaccine out of nowhere but THE CLUB Can easily donate 1-2000 ( and not even miss them) season tickets for medical staff this shouldn’t be what we are fund raising for.

DO the decent thing gibbo give them the tickets and allow this money to be spent on things they Really do need.

Just to add to this, the club are also doing something but I'm unsure what. The lads in the group didn't do it as a thing to have a boot at the club with and they're helping facilitate the tickets from my knowledge.

I was listening to Bob Fisher‘s Wednesday book review show a couple weeks before the lockdown and he had a guy on who owned a bookshop. This guy mentioned if we all spent £5 in our local shops and cafes (not chains) it would add something like £3m to the local economy. That is easy for us all to do and something we should be doing. We all whinge when the corner shop or butchers close but there is something we could do, use them.

Rob - I am sure Fisher will give you the exact figure.

I always try to use local shops and cafes when possible.

It's going to be even more important when the lockdown ends.

Use them or lose them, wherever possible I try and use local shops or the Co-op which supports local producers, the fresh produce from my local shops is invariably better quality than what you’d get in a supermarket.

As for the tickets great stuff from Red Faction but shouldn’t the club donate tickets per game to JCUH, North Tees etc, share the love and get more people involved with the club, something like a corporate ticket to the hospital but not necessarily with the hospitality package.

A big thank you to everyone that has supported our "Season Tickets for Key Workers" fundraiser so far. The Boro season tickets that are purchased after the fundraiser will be open to use for any key worker next season, once football can safely resume.

Below is a quick update on how the group is getting on with the distance goal. 1631 kilometres to go .

Thanks for the update - great shame but the key workers will not be forgotten and great to hear that they will be rewarded with season cards as soon as is possible.
