Red Bull breaching 2021 financial cap

But Horner said they didn't? Had a go at Mercedes for making up rumours this weekend aswell. We all knew this last week and the FIA for some reason decided til today to release the news when it was due last week.

No doubt just a slap on the wrist considering it's RB

Was threatening to sue other F1 teams for saying this. Gone a little quiet now.

There is very little to like in Horner.
Thinking back to all the tripe he spouted last season (lewis 0.2mm wing best springs to mind) I find it Ironic it was Red Bull cheating all along. You tend to find Those shouting the loudest usually have the most to hide…

Has to be some kind of sporting penalty here. Giving them a fine for spending too much money feels illogical. It’ll likely be a 2021 constructors championship points deduction, making absolutely no difference.

He should be fined for bringing the sport into disrepute by lying about something he almost certainly knew to be true and besmirching another team in the process.

Perfect opportunity now to strip Max of a title he won through the incompetence of officials.......they won't though. I'd like to see Red Bull have a 10% reduced budget for next season, to deter them from doing this again

So Lewis should win the title for not winning a race.

Surely that is the fia gifting it to Lewis how is that “fair”.
Thats a joke right? Max didn't win that last race fairly, either by the rules of the race or the restrictions of the sport spending cap, which as said above could give him a 0.1sec advantage for a 1mill overspend. That's about 5.5seconds in a 55 lap race.

Lewis was the fastest competitior in a legally financed car in that last race, that's a fact. If it was possible to know the financial failure prior to the race then he could have been disqualified.

Loved the fact that Karen was threatening to take strong action last week. I bet he’s a bit more quiet now. Just goes to show how liberty are manipulating a toxic red bull v Merc battle too: Binotto has been making accusations of cost cap breaches for months. As soon as Wolff mentions it it all blows up. All quite sad.

I disagree with the wording of Procedural, Minor and Material breaches.
It is the minor breach that seems to shout it was all very close to complying, when in reality that overspend could be as much as $7m. If you won $7m on a scratch card you wouldn't be telling everyone it was a minor lottery win.

Then there is Red Bulls argument that they had just accounted for the money differently to how the FIA envisaged it should be. It shouldn't matter. One pot of money and one cost cap.

This will, no doubt, be brushed under the carpet. However, the FIA's reluctance for transparency will only fuel the rumours and further tarnish the reputation of the sport and its rapidly diminishing integrity.

They would accept anything if it broke the merc/LH dominance. Ferrari got away with blatant cheating a few years ago and RB are about to do the exact same thing.

Interesting that Brawn was quoted a few years ago saying a team caught breaking the cost cap would loose a championship.
