Really Not happy at the end of another window

I’m not usually one for being too negative. But I’m massively underwhelmed and frustrated at the end of this window. Too short all over the pitch. One recognised left back. Peltier isn’t really a left back and even when needed hasn’t the legs anymore. Spence looks like it’s gone through to Forrest. Fisher out long term, are we mad? Coulson gone too. Who if my memory serves me right is a left back. It’s a joke. No cover.

We’ve massively left ourselves short in the centre of midfield. I’m not saying Morsy was a world beater but why get rid when we are short enough of players. Payero totally unproven and as NW has said will need months to settle in. Yes JLS looks athletic and can pass the ball. But again totally unproven. So I tell you what let’s sell another one of our proven championship midfielders this time to a league 1 team.

It is obvious we’ll get injuries and suspensions as that’s part and parcel of a long season of championship football. And we’re left short yet again. Even if we gain momentum for a while once the squad depth gets exposed we’ll slip away. 2 strikers as well, no options what so ever.

We have had an unbalanced squad for years. I’m sorry for being negative but another season with a mid table finish looms. And I’m just tired of seeing some of the stupid decisions made around players.

We look perfectly balanced to me for 3-4-3 and that’s not taking into consideration the different positions the players we have can play. I do think we could still do with a left sided defender as the icing on the cake.

I see your points bud. But I think we’ll get bullied in midfield in this league. At least Sav and Sammy could put a foot it and put themselves about. I don’t feel we have that in the squad anymore. And in this league I feel it is vital no matter what formation you play
 
God help us if Bola, Anth or one of the Centre mids get injured.

It’s one of them isn’t it. Warnock gets lumped with signing ageing plodders, who do little more thank kick lumps out of the opposition. He assembles a squad that is younger and more dynamic than last.. and he’s getting club Reed for that too! Crookes isn’t soft, I’d rather go up against Saville tbh and as much as Sam Morsy can put himself about.. I think Payero can and then some!

Have a look at the rest of the Squad Britt and Fletcher when compared with Uche and Mr T.. much tougher to play against.

Good points. I hope you’re right about Payero, I hope he’s a gem but I’m worried about whether he will be able to deal with the pace and lack of time on the ball. I agree with Crooks but I think Warnock will use him further up. Drinkwater going to reading. Very random one, I’d have had him and Andy Carrol on a very low wage, to bring off the bench he’d be lethal if and a big if he could stay fit. Not someone you want to defend against. I Guess with Drinkwater he doesn’t need to leave London.

I’m hearing Forrest have got the paperwork through to loan Spence. A very very odd one. Loan to another champo team is just bizarre
 
With Sporar, a natural goalscorer and Siliki, a total upgrade on Morsy, this squad looks good to me. Spence will not be a miss. In a few weeks a midfield of Tav, Payero and Siliki looks very nice, thank you. With the find of the season, Jones and Hernandez along with Whatmore and “T”, teams will not fancy playing us. Then we have four goal softees so far Crooks and Uche eh. The defence is ok, especially if they are strolling about whilst Sporar the scorer, Crooks and Uche are banging them in. (y)

Yeah, that’s a mad one. Simply Red mentioned Ryan Yates earlier today. Could still be a decent shout..

Most of his goals were in the Slovakian League. I’m not sure the standard of that level but when he moved up to the Portuguese league he became a 1 goal in 5 man. Not quite what I’d call a natural goal scorer but hey I’ll be optimistic he will start find the net in the Champjonship. We will need him too.

As for the loss of both Morsy and Spence I think they will turn out to be poor decisions.
 
I reckon we’ll sign Joe Bennett, no rush to get that one done in the window as he’s a free agent but solves the left back cover.

Agree on Morsy, I’d have kept him. Nice to have a natural wavebreaker in the squad. May have been a FFP thing, one player in and one player out, and also may have been a subtle prompt to Warnock to use Payero.

Actually I’m delighted with the balance we’ve got after the window. We brought in three internationals (Sporar, Hernandez and JLS).

Mainly we’ve totally refreshed our squad up front, the problem area for years, and now we’ve got loads of options.

From the three underachievers Britt, Fletch and Akpom, we’ve now got Uche, Sporar, Hernandez, find of the season Jones, Watmore, Crooks, Tav and young T who can all play up there. That’s a fantastic return, hopefully, and I’m happier that we spent the window focusing on depth, different options (and hopefully quality!) up front rather than cover elsewhere.
 
I'm happy with the incomings. I should say 'excited' by them as not done it in the champo and the whole moving abroad etc.

I simply don't think we have the squad to be moving anyone out. I don't think Spence or Morsy are high earners and the money we've received for them will hardly cover incomings.

I know neither are world beaters but are champo proven and can do a job. It's hardly to criticise yet it would appear better if we'd kept both. We were short in CM and all we've done is one in / one out. You can't tell me Peltier is a better player than Spence? Definitely not a better longterm option.

The Spence one is particularly bizzare going to forest. Unless Warnock just wants him out of the club.

But you're so good at it ;)

It has been a better window than most of us anticipated. If Siliki, Payero and Hernandez get to where they should be soon, Morsy and Spence (and Saville for that matter) get nowhere near this team. JLS might be unproven in yours and most Boro fans eyes, but not in Rennes fans, the Cameroon coach or Warnocks.

Come on mate, let's look on the bright side, at the start of the season we had the potential to finish mid table if we had luck with injuries, in anyones book we can possibly mount a challenge now. Let's appreciate what Gibson has done for once.
