Realistically how long can he keep his job?

Anytime hes asks yoù to do something, you must realise in your heart of hearts to do the exact opposite...a clown of the highest order. And he looks upon himself as Churchillian, or.....Clark Kent/ Superman 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

It’s soul destroying. The nation will never ever get over this fiasco both practically and in other nations estimation . It’s not funny

The biggest scandal tonight was he didnt address the people who have made the biggest lockdown sacrifices the over 70s and the vulnerable sheilding group. A 10 minute speech without a mention or indication of what is to happen to them. As for his statement about reversing the situation in care homes i would love him to substantiate his solution to that. Oh and finally no appolgy or acknowledgement of any mistakes to date at all for anything . What an utter chunt the guy is

Agree Glover but then he's more worried probably about looking statesman-like to Daily Mail readers than actually providing any real substance

They make up a large proportion of his fan base, so I imagine he didn’t feel he needed to.

Saw this online as one possible view on Boris saying that some people should be "actively encouraged" to return to work on Monday.

7 Principles of Leadership:

Lead by example

Encourage thinking

Apply reward and discipline

Demand high performance

Encourage confidence in the team

Recognise individual strengths and weaknesses

Strive for team goals

A good leader will recognise his weaknesses and have courage to admit his mistakes.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FAILURE:

1. Failure can lead to a greater search for solutions, it motivates individuals to adapt, it forces focus on otherwise unseen weaknesses and it provides perhaps the greatest test; it forces individuals or groups to experience and recover from defeat.

2. In contrast, without permitting the risk of failure, over-confidence and stagnation can flourish and true adaptation is impossible.

3. The enemy that we train to fight will remain constant while the real enemy will continue to develop and adapt out of sight.

4. Constant development and true adaption can only come from failure and the reaction to it; too much success breeds overconfidence.

I am absolutely convinced that Government strategists (Cummins) wants to keep Johnson away from public speaking in this crisis as much as possible and certainly not to expose him to a Q & A.

You can't expect anyone to communicate in 15 minutes what is clearly going to be a complex and protracted set of guidelines.

Everyone seems to think he should have addressed their own personal set of circumstances, but that clearly isn't possible.

The 50 page doc being issued later will provide more detail, but even then there will be details, circumstances and scenarios that an individual is going to have to interpret for themselves.

Lots of people heading unsafely to work today because he missed out the word "Wednesday".

Absolutely.

But then going off the GE campaign and subsequent result a large proportion of the electorate are quite happy to have a PM who appears to be afraid of scrutiny.

You can see the thinking. Apart from the fact he's liable to put his foot in it and make promises he can't keep, when the dust settles and people are looking for someone to blame, they'll be picturing whoever has been stood in front of the cameras doing the briefings.

Doesn't look good for Hancock.
