Rate my takeaway - Hartlepool

Am I the only Teessider who has never eaten a parmo? They look horrible., like something that has already been eaten once and then been thrown back up on to a plate.
I mean it's hardly Michelin star cooking but no different to a pizza. If you like chicken and you like cheese there is a safe bet you will like a parmo, hence their popularity.

You can trivialise most foods in the same way easily enough

Had my first parmo the other day in about 10 years. Wasn’t a fan. Probs be another 10 years before I give one another go

I'm also not a fan. Don't mind them when having a bar meal in a decent pub, but it's very rare that I have one. I wouldn't touch a dirty take away one. Give me cod and chips any day of the week.

Although is called rate my takeaway, open jar is a local restaurant / bar chain, think there is one in Norton as well. Girlfriend gets them all the time; do rather have other things but don't get the hate for them although I'm not keen on it being our local identity.

I know local comedians often get told when they ask for things to reference before going on stage to mention a parmo as it always gets a cheer, likewise Sunderland.

If this board was a snapshot of the Teesside public then the parmo would have been consigned to history many years ago. I’m going to say it every time I come back home I have a parmo and I bloody love them.

But then again I like Oasis, singing at concerts, wearing a boro shirt and the occasional fizzy lager😁
Love all these things but I just can’t get on board with the parmo!

I think they are really nice as long as the chicken is nice and crispy and hasn't gone soggy, otherwise it's all a bit mushy.

Also I think you need onion or cabbage or some spice to cut through the creaminess.
