Rashford

This is what really underpins their problem for some people:

Marcus is accountable in an England shirt - and at the moment he is joint top scorer in the World Cup.
In all other aspects of his life, at just turned 25 years old, he deserves support for his campaigns.

Can’t argue with being tournament joint top scorer and was a stunning free kick.

I like Rashford, as you say his confidence never changes. Since Kane ain’t scoring goals have to come from somewhere else, so great that he’s stepping up and probably won himself a place where otherwise he wouldn’t have.

He’s not a number 9, way more natural cutting in from the left or right - which is Sterling’s position, but Raz looks right off form. At the moment I’d start Rashford over him for sure.

And, great guy, goes without saying. Calm and switched on. Has the moves like Mbappe but doesn’t have the absolute killer instinct in front of goal, but still an outstanding footballer who scores in bursts. I’d go Rash - Kane - Saka for the knockouts.
that is all absolutely fair. Many fans didn't want Rashford to go, but here we are with him as our top scorer and a key player. I agree Sterling is off form, we have to have at least 2 regular goalscorers on the pitch so if we don't have Sterling we need Rashford, not Grealish in the side.

Quite a few saying we didn’t play well in the first half. What I saw was a side completely dominate possession in the knowledge the goal would come eventually. 🤷🏼‍♂️ but maybe I’m off my head.
It's exactly what you saw. You can't play Brazil 1970 football every match, sometime you need to treat it like a boxing match, and soften your opponents up. Possession is the jab, and switching the ball is the body shot, eventually you take the legs and heart from your opposition and only then do you bring the hook and straight right in to finish them off.

Where have I said I was annoyed? You’re keen to force my emotions onto me.
Perception by script means people dont need to tell us when we are "annoyed".
Language portrays feeling by the way it is conveyed and in the way it is used.
With the "English" language - we have many ways to express ourselves.
I hope that provides some clarity.
Many thanks.

Couldn't make anything stick in the 1st half, I thought he was really poor for those 45 minutes, but he banged 2 in later on so fair enough.

Thing is when teams press hard on us, our technique/touch fails the test in my opinion.

I reckon QF will be about as far as we get.

Rashford, as with a few others starting their first game this tournament, was nervous on the ball in the first half. That nervous energy meant he miscontrolled the ball a few times. That aside, you can see the quality he possesses and how threatened the opposition feel when he's on the ball.
Once he found his feet he became unplayable, and is a way above average footballer. If he is average, then our Boro squad is deeply mediocre.

Completely agree. Don't think we have the cutting edge just yet that the likes of France, Spain, Brazil have. And that's why we were so badly exposed by US' athleticism and high press. Although we have a few technically gifted individuals coming thru now eg Foden, Bellingham
