Raducanu!!!

Is it because the Daily Express thinks she is a good migrant rather than one of those pesky bad ones? (also love the way they have dropped her surname as to not rile up thier readers) GO ON EMMA!!!!

I just read the reports of the game - they said her opponent complained to the umpire - anybody watch it - - do you know why she complained?
Sakkari wasn’t happy with her skirt and wanted to change it as she felt it was too loose, at first the umpire said no but sakkari. Challenged that decision and the umpire allowed it because it was before the sakkari serve.
sakkari mumbled about a few line calls but got absolutely out played by a better player who was also twice as strong mentally

Her grand slam record already is superb, is that 9 wins and one retirement in 10 matches!

I've only seen a couple of point but the girl she beat today, face like thunder when she walked off court. She looked thoroughly frustrated like she had been outplayed and couldn't find a way to get on top or ER, anyone confirm how the match went?
Just watched it. My word, ER is some player and her mental strength and calmness in seemingly pressure situations is a joy to behold
Sakkari had no clue what to do with ER and no answers

Like you said pretty much. Couldn't deal with being forced to play far behind the baseline a lot. I think she was just gutted as she crashed out of the Semi's at Roland-Garros too, although on that occasion she actually had Match Point too.

Sakkari was definitely a bit salty at the end lol. Down playing Raducanus achievement by saying both her and in last match her opponent hadn't brought their best game. Must be hard to process tbf, playing an inexperienced18yo qualifier in 2nd week of a slam and getting brushed aside in straight sets.

Just signed up on Amazon prime so I can watch final (30 day free) and watched start of last night to ensure all working OK (will watch full match later). May have been usual warm up, but I got the impression Sakkari was trying to intimidate Emma before beginning (which Emma seemed to ignore), if she was failed spectacularly.

pretty much that. Sakkari couldn’t get going simply because of Radacanu. Anytime it looked like she might get a bit of momentum going, Radacanu basically upped the intensity and level and stopped the momentum.

The second set was getting competitive, and you felt if Sakkari was able to get the set back, then the match might change completely but Radacanu never let it happen.

The way she managed the hand she stopped Sakkari getting any real momentum or confidence, you would think she was the one ranked in the top 20 and Sakkari was the qualifier, if you didn’t know any better. It was a pretty seasoned performance.

the final should be good. The way both young lasses have played, it could be the first of many between them.

To be fair that answer was in response to a leading question from a journalist and it's probably fair to say she didn't play her best.

But that's part of the challenge isn't it? The champions bring their best game to the biggest matches. Radacanu has done that. It's a mental sport as much as a technical/physical one and so far Radacanu looks outstanding on that side of things, very impressive.

She's incredible, really hope she continues on this trajectory could really reignite interest in the sport in this country. For all that Murray's achievements were brilliant, not the most charismatic individual. Whereas Radacanu seems to have a very natural charisma on and off the court.

I think it does Raducanu a bit of a disservice though. She really attacks the opponents serve and doesnt let them play their best game. Navratilova saying today she thinks she is the best returner she has seen since Serena says a lot. On top of that she has been ruthless when she gets set/match points. It's been a joy to watch.
