QPR - Shithousery Mastery

Apologies if it’s been mentioned before but QPR employed tactics which, depending on your viewpoint, was magnificent timewasting or frustrating shithousery.

Whether it was regularly falling down and eating up secs feigning cramp, a knock or taking loads of time with subs or taking a throw in etc etc. Whatever it worked despite the ref playing 6 mins of injury time of which the ball remained in play for about 3 of them.

Yes, I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere but you are absolutely right. As an illustration, teams are allowed three 'substitution events' in a game. Their double substitution near the end was their third, yet the BBC report lists the two substitutions as being a minute apart.

England's women gave a masterclass in shithousery the end of the final v Germany, yesterday was more messy and the ref was giving QPR the benefit of the doubt, not all the time but most of it, that's what was frustrating

Every side has to do it now. Sadly, It blights the game.

I'd go along with bringing in the 10 min rule (see above), or alternatively, something along the lines of "players who are substituted in the 2nd half can not start the next match". They are therefore assumed to be injured.

So completely wiping out a managers ability to change anything in the 2nd half then, and doing away with tactical substitutions?

The number of substitutes is ruining the game because those with the money can have super stars on their bench. Man City can bring on virtually a new team of all stars.

Only one sub for tactics or injury would stop a lot of this in one fell swoop. no play acting. playing the strongest team from the start. Quality players would be more available to lesser clubs because a lot wouldnt even have the chance to sit on the bench so wouldnt want to hang around.

Their little midfielder who was subbed near the end possibly achieved a world record for the time he took to get off the pitch whilst seemingly running off. I swear he was running on the spot at one point the b****d. Their crowd loved it naturally as I no doubt we would have done in the same situation.

The ‘double substitution’ at the end was farcical and refs need to clamp down on this or else the three substitution intervals are a pointless rule, ie both players need to go on and off at the same time and not separately.

The simple solution is to change to 30 minute halves where the clock stops when the ball isn't in play. All of that time-wasting will be gone, no dodgy time added-on shenanigans. It'll stop players pretending to be injured etc. If you want to waste time you have to do it properly, with the ball in play.

I don't have a problem with things like taking the ball into the corner but the cramp thing does my napper in. Cramp is an odd affliction that seemingly only affects the team in the lead...

Two possible solutions

Anyone requiring attention on field must leave the field by the closest touchline, proceed to the coaching area where they will not be allowed to renter play for at least one minute until the ball has gone dead

or

Treatment can be administered whilst the game carries on with physios becoming "part of the pitch" for the purposes of refereeing the game,

May sound daft, but why does play have to stop for a substitution? As long as a team doesn’t have anymore than eleven active players at anyone time, might be a bit chaotic at first, but fourth official could administer all this and let the ref now via his earpiece?
