I just have images of loads of people surreptitiously sprinkling ashes around the Riverside from their trousers like in the great escape.

I wonder if his uncle was called Tom, d*ck or Harry?

It'll have to be a covert operation. When my Uncle died we tried to get his ashes scattered in certain places at the Riverside but the club wouldn't allow it. Had to sneakily leave a bit of him here and there, some on his season ticket seat, some by the Ayresome Park gates etc

It’s good to have the conversation about a funeral - can solve a lot of problems for those left to pick up the pieces.
’Simple’ funerals are really popular at the moment circa 25% of all funerals take this as an option rather than a ‘traditional’.
In the future that is only going to grow - around 50% of those planning for the future are going this route.

There will be a new kid on the block shortly - resumation

This will be the most environmental option - the body is decomposed in a water mix. Chemicals used are less than for burials.
It’s currently only available on licence at selected funeral branches as it goes through testing.

Aye someone was just on to me about it. And you always wonder how many are going to turn up.

I saw a dead seagull on Redcar beach two or three weeks back. They don't bother about it, life just goes on.
