Pub question!

I bought myself this delightful pub sign at the weekend which will adorn the wall of my soon to be finished home bar! However, it got me thinking about the origins of the sign and so I emailed Theakstons with the image to see if they could cast any light on its origins. Unforunately they don't seem to have any knowledge of where the sign may have came from originally other than to state they typeface of the 'Theakstons' logo suggests it was probably from 1979-1989.

As Theakstons tends to be more widespread in Yorkshire and the North I just wondered if anyone had ever seen this before? Would love to know which pub it originated in. (y)

Maybe worth contacting the local Licensed Victualler's Associations in the area to see if any members can help?

Kings Head is the 15th most popular name in the country (224 pubs). Good luck narrowing it down!

I used to run the Kings Head in Crook, but don’t recognise the sign, so there’s one more to cross of the list

Don't know but Iike it, my garden fence is beer/alcohol vintage/retro signs from one end to the other god knows what its cost me over the years
