Priti Patel allegedly abusing staff

It's not two Asians in top jobs, but two Asians whose parents would not qualify to immigrate under their rules.......

As I said does the person in these roles therefore need to be British bloodline going back a certain length of time? Where is the cut off point for a relative that wouldn’t qualify under the rules. Why can’t a person of ethnic background set rules which means previous family members would not get in. It seems you are making about about their ethic background being an issue

Not sure about the bullying, though it would be in keeping with the attitude filtering down from Cummings.

There is evidence she is untrustworthy and a security concern though. She shouldn't be anywhere near a junior cabinet position, let alone Home Secretary.

Of course and on that basis I am sure you would not like to see anyone facing official complaints of bullying elected to the House of Lords such as Mr Bercow until claims have been investigated

By all means they should investigate him too The difference is that I’m not passing off excuses for Bercow as racially or politically motivated.

The party you support deem him fit to be a lord though. Diane Abbott claimed it was unlikely he bullied David Leakey as he was in the army and dawn butler accused the Tory party of bullying bercow by not giving him a peerage.

I think it will be rich if any labour mp comes out against Patel when there is a ongoing bullying investigation (no such thing for Patel) when they openly support someone who is under investigation for it.

there is no official complaint against Patel. No named person but people are happily to accept this as truth without evidence.

i have to question why that is. Especially if it was someone from the opposite side of the political persuasion. Racist gets thrown around a lot in them cases

I think you misunderstand whataboutery, which is odd ass it's one of your main techniques. There is a discussion on Priti Patel bullying, you deliberately try and detract from your Tory heroes by trying to bring someone else into it. You do this All the time.

I understand perfectly. As I stated you are discussing a unsubstantiated claim of bullying and are very keen to jump on board with zero evidence. At the same time your "Labour Heroes" are promoting a man under investigation for bullying to become a lord. Its not "whataboutery" as you call it. Its calling out bullying no matter who it is, you don't want to seem to discuss that issue though. Do we have to start a new thread everytime someone wants to make another point?

Cooper. Berkow has nothing to do with this thread although seeing as you have brought him up all I will say is I hope any bullying allegations are fully investigated.

That said isnt he an ex Conservative MP? And NO. He isn’t a “hero” of mine. Not in the slightest.

He certainly is and was not put forward for a peerage due to his investigation (official line) so Labour deemed him fit enough for the lords. This thread is about bullying in the workplace. Can we not bring others into it. Are there set rules? Basically if its a tory bashing thread have to make another one to bash labour and vice versa?

Yes. Fine. Start a new one then. Whatsboutery aside getting back to the topic on hand. Another Conservative ex MP Matthew Parris in the Sunday Times yesterday :-

“Priti Patel’s record of abusive and undisciplined behaviour is as long as your arm, the people who ought to know this know it, and she should never have been allowed anywhere near a ministerial red box.
Priti Patel, however, is a consequence and not a cause. Every Commons I can remember has had its small quotient of truncheon-waving rent-a-quote types, and it may be argued that their equivalents among the general population deserve parliamentary representation. Quarrelsome, unthinking and aggressive politicians will always be with us. But you don’t make them home secretary

I know your game, it's entire whataboutery. It's one of your main weapons. Also this argument is helping detract from the original point. You're welcome.

I never knew you guys thought so much of me . Feeling the love

Cooper you’re making a fool of yourself here. You used to be one of the more reasonable posters on political threads but recently you seem to have made the decision to be a rabid supporter of anything Tory and refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing in their ranks.
Furthermore your tone has taken a more antagonistic approach. Perhaps you should reflect on that.

I see she's just told another lie in Parliament.

'Today Home Secretary Priti Patel told MPs that "2.8 million people have been granted settled status". This is incorrect because over 1 million have been granted pre-settled status only; this status is different from full settled status and only protects rights *temporarily*. '
