Looking to replace my old printer.
Think I want to move away from HP Printers
Price range £60 - £80
Any recommendations
Thanks.

I actually just got a HP Envy 6020 wireless and it's pretty good. was only £70. And comes with 3 months of 'instant ink' which seems great. I don't print an awful lot so have signed up to the £3.49 a month/100 pages deal so no need to buy any further ink cartridges which feel too expensive. Seems like a win/win to me.

P.S. Took a while to get one in that price bracket too, loads of places sold out and only the expensive ones left. Not sure how much that's changed over last week or so though.

Printers seem to be in lockdown 3 as hair clippers were in lockdown 1.

Cheers for that. Had a look and they appear OK UTB

I have an Epson... it hasn't been without some wireless problems but is generally OK. Mind you, it complains when you try to use non-Epson ink

I am a long term user of the HP Instant Ink package.

With coronavirus hitting I am now printing a lot less. As we are not running society golf competitions at the moment. So I have dropped it down to a smaller package. 2.99 euros for 50 pages a month.

You can alter the package each month if you wish.

Also, you can carry over unused pages to the next month (up to a stated limit).

The printer has to be attached to the internet. So they can count your pages plus check when the cartridges are getting low. They just post you new cartridges when you need them.

My advice would be to go for an HP printer that is compatible with Instant Ink.

agree with the above hp envy, instant ink, prices are much higher at the mo. my best advice would be really think about if you need to do colour printing - if not, get a small b&w laser printer for reliability, print quality & printing cost.

Get a laser printer unless you NEED colour printers

My dell laser replacement toner cart is about £20

No blocked nozzles, needing to do cleaning or ink cartridges for each colour etc

Photos on inkjet are crap and after buying good photos paper and ink costs etc it’s probably better off just ordering prints online

I still run an Windows XP laptop because it has drivers for an ancient b&w HP Laserjet 1010 which still churns out decent copy.

A mate of mine was advised by one company to buy a new printer rather than a new set of colour cartridges

I'm certain your printer would work fine with windows 10 - my laserjet 1020 is fine - had it donkeys years!

Sadly it is quite of true to do that - ridiculous.

I have a Brother inkjet all in one but after a windows 10 update I cannot get it to pint properly - have investigated every setting I can find but it will not print properly anymore

I'm with TheFair on this. Inkjets are a waste of money - they almost invariably stop working about a week after the warranty expires. I have a Dell all-in-one colour laser that cost about $300, but the cartridges are cheap enough and it even has a setting for non-Dell cartridges, which are all I use.

if you update your windows 10 to the latest version (download & run windows 10 update assistant) you should find your brother all-in-one will be fine. there was a glitch in one MS update that knocked them all out.....

I've had the latest update and still won't print properly........I hardly use it anyway and if I was down on ink I'd scrap it but I'd just replaced the cartridges before it went belly up!

B&W laser for me, but we do print a lot between us and the cartridge can give up to 7,000 copies depending on ink coverage.

I progressed to a colour laser with relatively low B&W costs and the colour cartridges lasting me years.
As far as I'm concerned, that's the best thing about it. No ink blockages and they just keep going. I've also just bought the relatively cheap repurposed cartridges without any problems.
