Prince Harry

I can understand that people do listen to the monarchy and value their thoughts and hold them in esteem, its just not for me, I find it all a bit illogical and basically weird tbh.
sorry, I can't understand that people would be interested in their thoughts. They are ill educated, corrupt, out of touch with reality, lazy, thieves. Saying that Harry is about the only one of the current bunch with any attempt to understand and empathise with common people.

Harry and Megan were apparently 'hated' by the UK public.... what planet are they on?

the hate for them has been stoked up by the red tops, talking about feuds and Megan hating that Middleton woman, and the pomposity of 'our' 'traditions' Seems to me the royal PR has done a job on them to eject her from their whiter than white family. Bottom line even ignoring her colour, is that she didn't want to integrate into that stuffy, nonsense, so the royals pushed her and him out.

Did he really court fame, or did he have it cruelly (at times) thrust upon him. My abiding memory of the young Harry is of a 12 year old boy being made to march behind his mothers coffin for public spectacle. That made him the most famous child in the world, he didn't ask for that. As he got to 21 he went off in the army, then when he got back he used the fame he didn't ask to raise money and awareness for injured troops. If he didn't do that he would be a lazy sponging parasite. I'm conflicted with royals, I feel sorry for them being thrust in the limelight and having no choice, while also detesting that some of them take full advantage of the benefits, to influence their wealth and consolidate their power and control.

I'm talking about his missus...

the guy is an utter turd that I would love to shove down the toilet and flush
(y)
He is best described as the Toiet Brush of Tory Toilet Britain.
His office in Mansfield has had "Tory Bastad" and other things - scrawled across the window - since his attack on the nations poorest children.
That might not be "acceptible" - but Mansfield have woken up to the understanding that a poor Labour MP is worth 10 of that bag of spuds.
Hopefully, we live and learn.
The former mining town [and they werent all scabs - inspite of popular myth] - might vote Green!
I hope so!!!!!:love::love::love::love::love:

I would be naive if I didn't think the monarchy has a massive support in this country as was shown in Brexit.
They love them like family members, doesn't the Queen have a God like status Defender of the Faith.
Lots of Brexiteers became worked up and quite aggressive if you knocked the royal family, they tended to tether that feeling to being British.
There was one particular poster who became really upset if Andrew was questioned regarding the Epstein case.

Even one very close friend of mine became upset over any thing said detrimental about the royal family and somehow always associated the the royal family with WW2,the services, victory, sovereignty ...tbh the list went on and on.

If a lad who grew up in the same backyard as me and have such a different opinion as I have is remarkable imho.

I still love him like a brother even though he is totally nuts in what he thinks.

So, everyone here not only believes in the existence of 'unconscious bias' but has personal experience of it, and Harry should be vilified for coming late to the party?

I suppose 36 years old isn't well experienced, he may have just noticed how the system he is part of works and what has happened in the past.

We all get excited when we discover such a huge amount interesting happenings, I know I did.

She wanted to be an actress, she fell for someone who was famous, she's still a real person so I don't find that intrinsically a bad thing or the definition of someone courting fame. I wouldn't say she was particularly high profile before marrying him

Exactly, so that's why she courted the press. It's certainly my definition of someone courting fame. She's in a league of her own.

I don't think she particularly courted the press either, wanting to use what fame she had for good causes prior to meeting him isn't something bad. Teaming up with Harry, well that might have catapulted her fame, but I don't think it was done for that purpose

...and lets be honest, being famous isn't in itself a bad thing to achieve. She has had huge negative press, but what exactly has she done wrong? Why should she have to take lies and nonsense from a proven machiavellian tabloid industry, just because she is famous. We shouldn't ever accept that papers can bully, harass and abuse anyone who didn't do anything to deserve it.

I can't think of anyone outside of the z celebs we have here who would turn up at the opening of an envelope, who loves attention as much as she does. It's so wonderful sitting watching her lecture us on climate change than watch her private plane whizz off for breakfast with Elton John. So far up her own self I'm surprised she can see daylight.

Read some of the replies with interest here. The fact we are talking about the poorest in society at the moment with free school meals and there's still a monarchy is utterly nuts; the usual argument about what the Queen gives to the country (I have nothing against her) and when she finally goes that should be the end of the monarchy. People still visit Versaille and would be the same here; if anything else it shows how utterly out of touch we are that we still have a royal family.
