Prince Charles Philip Arthur George Windsor.

He is the heir to the throne and is in frequent contact with the Queen . Regardless of views on monarchy what do you expect.
Or would you prefer the headline - "The queen has died from CV19 which she picked up from her son"

I would expect him to self-isolate in accordance with Government guidance and for his symptoms to be monitored. Similarly, as he was displaying symptoms, I would expect the Queen to be monitored by her physicians over the coming days.

None of the above would have required Charles and Camilla to be prioritised for NHS testing, particularly at a time when that is only being made available for those who require hospital treatment. It’s not anti-monarchist in the slightest, it’s just a recognition that if we are receiving NHS treatment we should all be meeting the same criteria.

He was legitimately tested under Scottish NHS testing criteria not English NHS where I suppose he wouldn't have been - my daughter has symptoms but is neither being monitored nor tested and she works in the English NHS. I notice he travelled (flew by RAF plane) to Aberdeen on Sunday and the Queen fled to Windsor Castle just before that - both travelled in contravention of government advice not to travel.

Hmmm. Clarence House is staying that he met the criteria for testing.

However, the NHS Scotland website states that people will only generally be tested for Covid-19 if they "have a serious illness that requires admission to hospital". Also, plenty of MSPs tweeting that their constituents are being refused tests, despite displaying symptoms and having underlying health conditions.

It’s a time of crisis, he’s constitutionally important as are those he is in regular contact with. I’ve no problem with it. It’s not like he’s a rock star or actor.

Hope he makes a full recovery but why as an over 70 was he allowed to take an RAF flight to Scotland over the weekend, surely someone somewhere should have quietly said to him this might not be the best idea given the current climate and government advice regarding non-essential travel.

That’s without taking into account especially his close contact with Prince Albert of Monaco who tested positive on March the 19th.

If he was Chas Windsor a 71 year old ex-pipefitter from Stockton who had played dominoes a week earlier with his mate who subsequently tested positive and then decided to go to his Caravan at Haggerston Castle we’d all rightly be calling him a selfish so and so.

The Queen could die at any time.

Giving some preferential treatment to the person who is going to be potentially signing (emergency) legislation into law seems pretty sensible and important to me.
