Prices in the club shop - Seem a bit steep?

This isn't a stick to beat the club with as I think they've got a lot right with the new kits etc but the price of some of the items in the club shop are extortionate!

I don't see how we can justify £75 for a Hoody which isn't far off double what you'd pay for a lot of main brand hoodies these days.

I understand "people don't have to buy them" and that we need to make profit etc etc but I cant see how £75 for a hoody or £35 for a plain cotton t-shirt with the badge stuck on can be justified?

Just had a quick look on Amazon. Errea isn't particularly cheap but you can pick up one of their hoodies for about £40.

Which means you're essentially paying £35 for the Boro badge 😳

I get they need to make money but this is a scandal.

I just don't see how there can be any justification for that?

I understand that we want to compete at the top and with that we need to make profit etc

But charging £90 for a jacket that is available online for £36 just because it has a Boro badge on it just stinks.

They always have been !

How do you suggest they continue to function, and compete in the Championship. Or do you think it should just be Gibson pumping his personal money into it rather than the fans contributing too ?
They have to make money but the pricing is ridiculous. I went onto the website to buy the hoodie but just laughed and closed the browser when I saw the cost of it. I doubt I’ll have been the only one. They’re losing sales and therefore income by setting the prices so ridiculously high.

Think the point is, if you sell two coats at £90 or price them at £50 and sell 6 everyone still makes money. It's the level of profit, not the fact that Errea / MFC have to make profit to survive.

Fans are happy to contribute, but not be rinsed.

But they maybe believe they've priced it right, and the amount of revenue they generate is optimized at that price point (maybe they're right, maybe they're wrong, they wouldn't be the first company to get their prices wrong).

However there's a reason they're trying to optimize revenue & profit, and it's not for Gibson to buy gold toilets.

I know twitter isn't representative of the entire fanbase but you only have to look on the clubs tweet about training wear to see the reaction to the prices.

Everyone either laughing at the absurdity of charging £75 for a hoodie or saying they just walked out of the club shop once they saw the prices.

Suspect they might have a bit of surplus stock going at the back end of the season at those prices.

Some will pay it, but lots of people are having to be a bit more careful with their spending these days. Not sure £75 errea hoodies are going to be top of the priority list for most.

Think I'll just wait for the sale.

Its shocking really just had a look at other championship clubs and hoodies range from 40 to 55 ish. Them prices for a hoodie and jacket are scandalous. The kit prices are no better. I understand we want to compete but this is appalling for what is a supposed family club. We have already sold 18,000 season tickets so surely the fan base is there... why not make them affordable to the masses.

to buy the new kit for an adult and the hoodie its £162 and a juniors kit £74 with £6.00 delivery. robbing b***ds. You can tell a conservative owns the shop :p

There's a picture doing the rounds on Facetube of a shirt someone's bought with no crest on, and the sponsor logo is about 2 inches to the right of centre.

That's what I do, can't remember the last time I bought something full price from the club shop. Even then I usually only buy training shorts at the end of the year if they're reasonably priced.

Unsurprising isn't it really with the price of tickets, everything at Boro costs a fortune.
