Preston Tower/Boho X

Andy Preston's tower with a helipad on top cost over £600k in design fees - then it was shelved not long after

There was even a chunk spent on booking the Riverside Stadium to announce it.

Someone has had a very nice payday off this. Wonder if they are linked to you know who

Terrible waste of taxpayers' money - especially in the times we live in. MP Andy McDonald is calling for an independent inquiry.

Was there an artist's impression done ?

Think I'm gonna get a job doing this in the Boro loads of work out there.... o_O

Don't you know Mr Preston is beyond reproach on here........

"“Slowly but surely things are changing for the better.”

So speaketh Mr Preston confirming without doubt the man is a fool. I Wonder what he has done with the money that was paid upfront to secure offices in the building that was never built nor likely to be.

Im not saying there is any wrong doing here but i think at the very minimum there needs to be an investigation into every company that has benefited financially in the process.

If the allegations are true regarding the unrealistic probability of it actually going ahead from the start, then i personally would want to know if the money has been well spent.

So far i think he has been doing a good job and have no reeason to doubt his motives. That said, he is a business man with lots of fingers in lots of pies when it comes to development projects and some members of the public have a different view of him for various reasons.

And im not insinuating that he is on friendly terms with the design companies that have been paid the money (before i get accused of anything).

In what way has he been doing a good job?

Regardless of the cost, the opportunity of a positive and innovative change Middlesbrough's skyline appears to be lost. But thats ok. The area still has cooling towers & flare stacks to be synonymous with. :(
