Press Conference

It’s not the same chirpy optimistic CW we saw last season that’s for sure. He looked tense, bothered and maybe unhappy. Just my opinion.

I doubt he would have said so blatantly that we will have a strong squad by the end of the window if quality signings weren’t lined up. Still don’t think Tav will be that big of a miss.

If there are new signings we need them in quickly. Place needs a lift and not far off a 5th of our fixtures will have been played by the time the transfer window shuts.

Wouldn't say I noticed anything particularly out of sorts with him, but certainly wouldn't be surprised if he was feeling a bit jaded. Must be a ridiculously intense time in the season. Got to fully prepare the players he does have for matches that are going to come thick and fast while at the same time working with the recruitment team to try and bring in half a squad of players.

Pretty clear he's ***ed off that the window is staying open so long after the season starts. Don't blame him.

There’s no point in being desperate in looking for something negative, if you consider there’s 34 days of this transfer window left this windows has been class . Keeper sorted left wing sorted 2 huge areas we’ve been lacking in . Now we’re about a 3rd away to sorting our striker situation out . We’ve just lost a midfielder but have over £20m to sort this out and the remaining positions. We might not get everyone we want but that’s we’re good managers come in , lucky we’ve got one of them as well .

Not really anything other than Tav. Used the term 'club signing' for Forss which always worries me. Gives him an out if it's not working.

Clearly wants players he picks. Says the team tomorrow will show how short we are. No mention of if Fry is fit or not.

I'm guessing either a half empty bench or filled with Kav, Hackney, Finch plus Forss, Roberts and Bola if Fry is fit.
Seem more ‘the club got him’ and that he was much more involved in his selection. Definitely talked him up throughout the interview. If not wanting to put all the pressure on him from the off.

Some absolute clowns on here! We haven't kicked a ball yet and people are all negative. Second guessing everything, spreading negativity.
Jesus get a grip...

Which place? Not convinced our fortunes this season are dependent on the level of mither on here.

And if you're talking about the club/playing staff, how would you know?
Because the first time I went to see them was 63 years ago and I recognise patterns prior to going into a new season with a small squad and selling one of your perceived better players 3 days before your first match. That and waiting until the season is well on its way before bringing in loan players.
That's how. Seen it all before.

I thought he wasn't his usual self. Yet maybe just having one of those days or sick of being asked about Tav.

He clearly wanted to keep him and rightly annoyed that he's leaving. I don't think he can blame anyone it's the lure of the prem. I noticed he mentioned Tavs 'representatives' a couple of times. We know managers love agents lol.

He also got asked a few daft questions. Even I thought 'eh?' and he was spiky in some of his responses.

Someone asked if Forss would be the 'answer' to a 20 goal CF. He quickly shot it down saying he's a young kid and don't put pressure on him. A good answer👍. Also whoever asked should do a bit of research and know he's not coming in with those kinda figures.

That said maybe just couldn't be bothered or having a down day. You can't be happy all the time.
