Premiership or Championship

Same thread. Different day.

I want to see boro compete with the best and help secure the clubs future financially so of course the answer is the premier league every time; although I enjoy promotion seasons more than trying to stay up. But of course want to be in the top league, it’s what it’s all about. Otherwise what’s the point?

The Championship is more interesting for true fans, but of course the qulaity and money and big names are in the Premier League. It also gets 99% of the media attention.
‘true fans’ fans probably do prefer the championship. more games, more chance of winning.

true supporters will always want their team competing in the top division.

I'm a sports fan: I want to compete at the highest level that we can, which means PL ultimately. On a match day, I want the team to win. Over a season I want the team to get promoted. If not, what's the point?

That said, I wish the PL itself was much more like the championship. 90% of matches kicking off at 3pm on a Saturday would be a good start.

As I said earlier, I'll always be more interested in the league Boro are in.

I don't really care. Football to me is part of my social fabric. I have watched one game on TV, it was no different to Subuteo.

Football to me is, having a few beers and talking general rubbish, the walk to the game, watch it amongst like minded people and then go home.

I have zero interest in any team apart from the Boro I often go and watch Guisborough, I get the same football feel there.

So I hope for the play off final, and that we win it.

When I hear in here that cup games should be lost to assist being in the top 6, I think, nah let's go to Peterborough away it's a good day out.

I have now done this since I was 8, ok now the pub and away days. That was 16.

In addition to the issues you posted in reference to the day out, I like watching good football. That doesn't happen all that often in the Championship. Playing in the Premier League means we're playing with better players. Not only does this mean we get to test ourselves at the highest level, it means we take the cups more seriously and have a better chance at putting cup runs together. The 'day out' will always happen whether you're Championship or Premier League.

Premier League all day long.

Premier- for one big reason, MONEY! As long as we don’t spunk it all like last time. Mind, we have to get there first!
Don't think anyone can argue with that.

The bigger issue for me and has been since the eighties and more so now because of forums such as this, is the
longevity of the club.

Being on the other side of the world, the death of my beloved Boro would also more than likely be the death of
forums such as this which is now, my only connection to the area, the people that I love and my proud roots.

To read others stories on here of their memories and wonderful experiences following the Boro and how it all
came about has given me great satisfaction over the years.

This is the reason that I'll be happy for the Boro to exist no matter the division.

I really fell for the Boro when we were promoted from the third division and to this day, walking on that magnificent
green grass with my Dad after beating Oxford, is one of the fondest memories of my life.

It's also a worry too where the next generation of Boro fans will come from.
Us of the older generation were lucky in the fact that admission for father and son was affordable, which is not
really the case now for most when in the Prem.

Stay safe all.
