Premier League PPV matches to screen from next week

Thiis just further alienates fans to the Premier League.
Think Id have more sympathy with this idea if Premier League Clubs hadnt just paid out a billion in the last transfer window, sought Government help with furlaugh payments and made staff redundant.

Just another money making stream on top of the broadcasting income they receive from Sky and BT and the bailout of EFL Clubs talk is still ongoing.

£15 to watch multi million pound, global football star’s competing in the most glamourised league in football.

£10 to watch a team who nearly got relegated, threadbare squad and an owner that doesn’t seemed bothered about competing anymore.

Value for money suddenly?

Its like paying £15 for Michelin star food and a tenner for a pasty.

Edit: I’m still going to be paying my tenners 😂

Strange comparison. You are viewing football as a commodity. The argument is that without that money EFL clubs fail. Not the same for the EFL where gate money is a tiny proportion of their overall income.

Their appetite to maximise revenue is exactly the same. They will charge £15 because enough people will pay it. People pay £25 to watch ex-boxers fight people who do other sports.

Well I won't be paying any extra money out.

This world is getting worse and worse.

If people aren't losing their jobs the rich are trying to rinse them of the rest of their money.

The money should be spread throughout the lower leagues if this is what they are going to do.

No I get that but it’s leaving a nasty taste in their “customers” mouths. As I said above unlike EFL Clubs the Premier League teams receive an inordinate amount of income and this is another squeeze of the fan base.

Didn't we have pay to view Scottish football on first?

I think Forest v Liverpool was the first Premier League game shown but feel we had PTV Scottish football prior to that.

Everything is a squeeze of the fan base. The objective is to extract as much revenue as possible from other people in order to make their team perform better. Nobody has to pay to watch these games, if they do it is 100% out of choice and they are categorically endorsing the prices. These matches weren’t even available to watch previously.
