Prem or Champ

So apart from the cash promotion would bring in, with the current squad do you think we are better staying in the Champ or having a go in the Prem.
Stay in Champ win most games and have an exciting season ?
Join the Prem, get battered most weeks and struggle against relegation ?

I've said this before, I love the Championship.
The quality of football has improved hugely in the past decade or so. Better players, better managers.
I find the Prem quite boring a lot of the time.
I'd love to see us play the top teams at the Riverside but getting battered week in / week out soon wears thin. I think I'd prefer to be competitive in the Championship to be honest.

Premier league, because it would suggest the team is stronger...meaning there's a better chance of winning something - albeit unless you're a giant of a club in the echelons of the PL, that still seems very very unlikely.

Me too.

Prem. Go up with a plan on coming back down but hope for better. Keep the core team that gets you up. Bank the parachute payments.

Prem although I don’t get there much these days.
I read somewhere that if you are in our Premier League then the club is one of the top 40 teams in the world.
So being out of it makes you a nonentity and I don’t like that.

Premier League. The fact that it's very likely we could lose Doak and Lath and it feels like it's out of our hands (certainly is with Doak) sums up why it's actually pretty rubbish being a Championship club.

I know even as a PL club you can lose key players but you're going to have more of a chance of keeping them if you're in the PL.

I absolutely hate the Championship.
The quality of football has not improved, it is turgid.
PL teams have better footballers who have better technique and are better athletes.
There are 20% more goals per match (593 in 199 matches v 765 in 308 this season)
The grounds are better, the crowds are bigger, the away crowds are bigger.
Financially you have no chance in the Championship, every team loses money unless they have PP's, even then most of them still do.
Not everyone loses money in the PL.

Promotion > Exciting summer transfer window > Scrap to finish 17th and enjoying seeing the big teams come up here > Another exciting summer transfer window > Relegation > Sale and Rebuild > Pre-season statements about smashing the Championship and going straight back up > Five seasons hovering around the playoffs.

it's nice being successful whatever league you are in, particularly when a team clicks and you get to see entertaining footy. I think most fans just want a bit of excitement, a feeling (however misguided) that they have a chance of winning, and to be competitive. its never fun getting humped every week. altho I did follow poole town home & away one season and they got one point, and it was fun in a masochistic sort of way. most bormuff fans favourite season was winning the champo in 2015 - great football, winning most weeks, and an affinity with the team.
