Pre loaded holiday cards

I have an escape travel card through Dawson's travel agency. I found recently out that when I went top up the Escape card through Dawson's I was told they were cutting ties with the group and that Escape maybe ceasing trading. If you have one I would suggest you clear it out as it may take months to get any cash you have on it. The should have sent out emails but I personally have not received one, there maybe others.

I lost a little bit of cash from a similar card when the company stopped trading- there was no warning, no opportunity to clear the balance.

I'd just get a Starling account, or similar, that don't charge for overseas transactions.

I use the post office card. It works really well.

I just use a Barclaycard which has no charge for any payments and I can also withdraw cash interest free.
The prepayment system is good if you want to stick to a particular budget though. I do have one from a few years back, I should double check there's nothing on it or could end up in a similar situation

I use the post office card. It works really well.

I had no probs with Escape but with over a grand on the card I had to move quick. I looked at the PO but the queue was huge and one teller so went to TUI instead.

I use Revolut and top it up whenever I need to. It takes literally seconds, plus it allows you to have a virtual card too.
