Post office woes

I run a mailorder business and over the year I probably send out well over 1000 packages internationally using Tracked & Signed.

Most of the contents are of low value less than £100. Every single one of them arrives within a few weeks without fail.

So isn't it typical that when I send something worth £2000 the F***ing post office go and F***ing lose the ******:mad::mad:

Insured?

Only to £100. They only allow compensation up to £250 anyway. I figured that with a 100% delivery rate there was very little risk.

Ah, so it’s you who I see stood in front of me for half an hour in the post office every day with two sacks full of parcels, each one needing individually sizing and weighing........... :-D

Bit of a risk to take, even with 100% delivery rate damage can happen

I send a lot of perfume out and every year 2-3 don’t make it despite being tracked

Haha yes I used to do that when I first started all those years ago (sorry) but we get everything collected now (y)

Well it was sent Tracked and Signed so where's the risk? Like I say, in 1000s of parcels shipped over the years I've NEVER had one lost

The risk is it gets damaged en route & the buyer asks for a refund. Even if they receive the item it can get damaged, and you’re liable for that, not just that they receive the item. Surely the risk you’re asking is right here manifested - you’re down £1900

They might send you a cheque as compensation - don't forget to cash it 😮

Seriously I hope it got sorted at the time

Something that high value should really only be sent Special Delivery, I think that guarantees you are covered up to £10k if anything goes wrong.

I have just had an email to say that they have collected a tracked parcel this morning, thats funny its still in my house!

Was it international ?
Royal mail only do tracked and signed for international services but thats only covered to £50
If so that's very brave sending a £2000 item which would almost certainly be opened at customs.

If its UK and you sent it 1st class signed for then that's only covered for £20.

I also send a 1000 + parcels with Royal mail every year and expect to loose a few each year.
Any item over say £100 would go next day guaranteed your covered for £750 with that.
