Police lied about Hillsborough

Lord (Colin) Moynihan, who was the Minister of Sport at the time is still alive. The truly vile Kelvin Mackenzie, who helped promote the lies through his right wing rag is also still alive. It would be great if they were both made to answer a few questions about Hillsborough.
Like they did at the time, they will blame the corpses. In this case their already deceased superiors and lieutenants. Sadly I think the opportunity for actually apportioning some real fault and blame has passed into history.

We must never forget and never forgive. This went right to the top and Thatcher (and her government) had blood on their hands, she essentially co-opted the Police from being a public service to being the strong arm of the establishment. We should also think of Orgreave and the "Battle of the Beanfield" both coincidentally, featuring the Stormtroopers from South Yorkshire police

What happened at Hillsborough is beyond lying, self protection and corruption, blaming the dead and the innocent for failings of those tasked with protecting society and keeping us safe are actions and behaviours of lowest of the low.

The cover up and manipulation of the veracity of what happened that day shows a complete lack of character and responsibility, a complete dereliction of duty contemptable in it's cruelty and unforgivable for eternity.

The very least the memory of those poor souls who perished was the truth, not the tarnish of guilt nor a posthumous finger of blame, those in power who could and should have sought honesty decided not to seek the reality, they chose not to take the most cowardly way of turning a blind eye, no they chose to propagate the lies, stigmatise the innocent and persecute a city in mourning.

Hillsborough shows all what a 'Leader' Thatcher was and her actions were not driven by ignorance nor error, but wilful vindictiveness, she spat on their graves, desecrated their memories, destroyed their families on all in the name of protecting the culpable and defending the indefensible.

Not in Merseyside. And quite why the Merseyside boycott of this vile rag has not spread further is beyond me.

Free speech comes with responsibility.

There isn’t a Merseyside boycott.
It is sold in lots of places including one near Anfield - but you won’t find it on display there.

It is a vile rag, so is The Mail which is sold in all our communties.

Don’t underestimate some people’s ability to ‘forget’ in the interests of reading their rag

And, despite everthing there are those that will continue to blame the fans.
Remember 24% of the public do not think that Johnson is a liar

I’ve mentioned this in here before but we were over for the Boxing Day game v Everton and one of the lads went into the newsagent next to the ground for a paper and he asked for the sun. I’ll never forget the shol owners response.

We don’t sell that ***** in ere son

So yes it’s a real thing.

I think there is very clear concurrence present, but the Beanfield was Wilts police?
