Plumbing question

My knowledge of all things plumbing is even more limited than most of the other things I know very little about, so was wondering if someone could answer a question. We have a combi-boiler and also have quite high water pressure. We recently had to replace a leaking tap on the bath and when the guy replaced it, he said the pressure in the pipe had previously been reduced to half way so that we weren't getting the high pressure we could be getting.

Since that was replaced the water is indeed a lot quicker at filling the bath - however, the water doesn't seem to get quite as hot. My question is this; as the pressure is now on full, can it be possible that the combi-boiler isn't able to heat the water quite as effectively and therefore the water is a little cooler?

Thank you.

I’d imagine exactly that, however you can also adjust the water temperature on your combi boiler so turning it up may have the effect of improving the temp again, but be careful with other taps. Play about with various settings

I snapped the handle of my toilet. (Its metal) giving it an extra hard flush. Now I have to use a bucket to flush the toilet. It's all fun and games. How much will I have to pay to get a new one? I'm deciding whether to continue with the bucket :poop:

Pennies Coops

You can either turn the water temp up on the boiler or run the hot water tap slower. The slower is runs the hotter it is as the water is passing by the heating element slower

Thanks folks, this place is worth its weight in gold despite the many different personalities and opinions.
It sounds like the water flow capability has been increased such that your boiler can't cope with the higher water flow. We have a 40KW boiler but still limit the flow to get really hot water. Also, check the temperature setting on the boiler but it probably isn't that if it heated the water, albeit slowly, before.

Reminds me of when you pulled your mam's bog off the wall after drinking a bottle of Goldschlager at that wet t shirt competition in Sharkey's o_O:sick:

Christ on a bike I had totally forgotten about that. Man that night was brutal. I think it was the same night I woke up on a bench on the sea front.

Great days :ROFLMAO:

This is correct, run the tap slower just takes an extra 5 mins to run the bath. The slower you run it the hotter it gets...
