people won't listen, partly because the government have been so indecisive and wanting to suggest or advise people not to go out,the youngsters feel invincible and that no real harm can come to them, they are more worried about having their liberties infringed than people dying, the country is in a sad state I'm afraid....

The government have it about right I think. It's a matter of opinion however they are supported by facts and medical experts. I know it's as much (an educated) guessing game. They've balanced safety with economy but as rob said - doing go out now the pubs are closing. The decision was made for a reason

Why do we need the government to tell us, has humanity sunk so low that we need to be led in a dictator type way. This whole thing shows that the collective moral compass of our country is so amiss that maybe we do.

Totally nothing to do with the government. People were told at the beginning of the week not to go to bars, restaurants etc. Totally ignored so now they are all being closed and despite being told not to go out tonight, guess what people are doing.

The government could have been strong and mandated lock down immediately. Weak leadership.

It has been as if people demand to have their hand held through this. Unless you shut them down we might still go etc. Then people criticise the government for not holding peoples hands instead of the idiots not listening

the danger is, the old double whammy tonight, pubs irresponsibly drop their prices, idiots fill there boots, drinking like there is no tomorrow (effectively there isn't), then police, ambulance, A&E people have to pick up the mess, putting themselves at risk at the same time.....
